I still want a new commodore 8bit in a commodore classic breadbox case.
With enhancements like 1541 ultimate and sdcard reader etc.

That would really sell .. In the retro market .. say for 50 quid or something..

Couldve put a minimig in the case as well...

"The Commodore retro computer".

But alas - the wishes of me, and a ten thousand retro computans dont matter apparently

If all the commodore IP, names, trademarks are/were worth so much money, why couldn't commodore back in the day liquidate some assets and pay the judgment they had and import to sell the CD32. Not saying it would have save them long term but who knows what would have happened.

Seems like the Bahamian BK was just a scam to get shut it down without liability and selling assets that did not go to creditors like it would in a US BK court. I bet they sucked all the money out right before the BK.

Regardless, you've finally given us third party confirmation of your right to use the Commodore brand name for something at least. Can we now see a similar document from Amiga Inc confirming your right to the Amiga brand?

What do you want an announcement on Amiga Incs. website?

Kad.

Sorry couldn't resist.

That would be nice, yes.

Seriously, though. It would only have to be an announcement in the same style as the marketwatch.com press release from Asiarim to put my doubts about the reality of the license to rest.

If I remember, they were supposed to be making a comeback, too.

Yep, it appears she got one of the new test models. Nice to see the keys work as expected, it wouldn't be a 64 otherwise....

Another new article with old information dated today:

Commodore USA decided against installing a Windows operating system and chose the popular Ununtu System by Linux.

None too?

Yes, they have the license.

For all in one PC only. Only for Usa.
Not sure of this.

@AmigaBlitter

Not even real All-in-ones, just Keyboard PCs, they can't even introduce a Commodore Pet successor, because it's a true all-in-one. It's a doomed strategy. How many retro enthusiasts are there out there? It's a gag, you put one in your lounge, office, etc and play a joke on your friends and then it's just an inconvenience....

Asiarim, who has been making the most recent press releases concerning licensing, is listed.

Commodore trademark has a new daddy

After months of hard work and international legal filings, I am thrilled to finally announce that Commodore Holdings (C Holdings), which is the corporate entity that owns and holds the trademark IP "Commodore" is no longer a part of or a division of Asiarim Corp. The stock in Commodore Holdings was pledged as collateral years ago, and 100% ownership of that company is now in the hands of a new group (wonder who that can be?). Additionally, a ruling came down this afternoon from the Netherlands court that has formally put Commodore Licensing B.V. into involuntary bankruptcy. This bankruptcy proceeding was initiated by this same group. Asiarim and whatever else is left of it will shortly be following suit. The Netherlands court will be appointing a receiver for the bankrupt parties within the next day or two.

Stay tuned for the further adventures of Commodore USA.....and btw, this news has NOTHING to do with our major announcements that will be forthcoming shortly.

Happy New Year everyone. I wish each and every one of you, supporters and haters alike, health and happiness in 2012.

@digitex

Thanks for the update.

Obviously when I posted yesterday that Eugene Van OS, former shortterm CFO of Asiarim (amongst other titles) had absconded with the Asiarim and subsidiaries' paperwork, I was back to thinking about how long this mess would take to rectify.

I'd heard that as well. Thanks for the further confirmation.

Well, you can always run a poll of wonderment for that one. heh.

I'll be interested in following the news from the Netherlands court.

Happy New Year and best of thoughts that the long nightmare that began eons ago with CIC and Tulip is finally coming to a close.

Eugene van Os is truly the white knight is this adventure. Do not believe anything that was reported in the recent SEC filings by Asiarim. There were outright lies and misinformation filed that is being corrected and hopefully investigated by the SEC as we speak.

Oddly, I pondered that as a viable alternative to what was published. It just made....sense.

To those who don't quite understand what we are talking about here I suggest some light reading:

So finally the "news" that Dammy said would have us all in shock and quaking in our boots...

Don't think so some how...

Gawd Barry... ye dinnae hauf gibber the biggest load o bullsh!te ah've evur hud ra misfortune tae read...

Who cares what IP, names, brands, logo's, trademarks you own...

Simple fact is is you will never be the real Commodore or the real Amiga, you may con a few unsuspecting dunderheids who haven't owned or used an Amiga in decades with your overpriced PC's running emulators...

More importantly though is no matter what you do the damage has been done and you will always be seen in the Amiga community as the fake wannabe Commodore who sells nothing but overpriced PC's that anyone with one ounce of common sense couldn't give a sh!t about...

Why not buy a brand name that suits you better, something like Ex-Lax would do nicely for all that verbal diarrhoea you spout...

PS: Happy new year & I hope you go bankrupt... I genuinely mean that...
