software OS4   SDK Browser v2.0.0.100 released to registered owners
software OS4 posted by JamieKrueger on 9-Dec-2016 5:11:23 (8267 reads)
Hello Everyone,

I am pleased to announce that the
first new release of the SDK Browser for AmigaOS4 in 10 years,
is now available for immediate download by all registered owners.

[Link to full size screenshot]

Version 2.0.0.100 is a Release Candidate for the upcoming
SDK Browser v2.1.0.0,
which is intended to go public before Christmas this year.

This new version contains several important updates over the last public release (v1.6.0.0).
One of the most significant updates is the move to using newer style AmigaDOS API calls for
all file scanning and directory browsing functions, which now means that the SDK Browser
fully supports 64-BIT filesystems and hence very large drives.

Here is a brief overview of new features found in v2:
o Updated and built for the latest AmigaOS4 SDK
o Tested under AmigaOS4.1 FE [Update 1]
o Support for 64-BIT Filesystems
o New (STRUCT)ure browsing
o User settable Fonts and displayed Tab lengths
o Dynamic target screen selector
o Mouse Wheel Variable Acceleration Mode
o Enhanced user preference settings
o New "Find Files (in dir)"
o New "Search (in Search Results)"
o New "Open in File Browser"
o New "Open in Workbench window..."
o More...

For more information, visit www.bitbybitsoftwaregroup.com.

** SPECIAL NOTE to all registered owners of either the SDK Browser
or the AVD Suite: If you have not already received a direct email
about this release, please contact me at: jamie@bitbybitsoftwaregroup.com
to update your contact information. Thanks.

Best Regards,

Jamie Krueger

software OS4   MKShare Released On AmiStore
software OS4 posted by broadblues on 3-Dec-2016 12:31:01 (3206 reads)

I'm really pleased to announce that MKShare is finaly ready for public release and available to download from AmiStore for just £5.00 (plus VAT).

http://www.broad.ology.org.uk/amiga/mkshare/

MKShare enables you to seamlessly share your mouse, keyboard and clipboard between several AmigaOS computers, reducing desk clutter and avoiding the need for KVM switches which are often reported problematic with Amiga based systems.

For your £5.00 you will get the MKShareServer which runs on the central computer with the mouse and keyboard attached and the MKShareClient with runs on up to 4 client computers. As additional bonus you get a FREE MKShareClient68k which enable you to control an a1200 with networking or perhaps a WinUAE based amiga too.

Unlike systems like synergy a low level protocol is used that mimics the behaviours of input device with packets closely matched to the underlying event messages, giving a smooth amigalike feeeling to the remote mouse. You can hardly tell it not a 'real mouse'. In most cases lag is minimal, the exception being when the server of client are under very heavy CPU mode.

I've been using MKShare between my SAM Flex and my X1K and it honestly feels like one machine with two monitors!

MKShare also has the abilty to reconnect if the client of server is rebooted
