Get 20-40% Off ZitaFTP Server (Limited Time Offer) |
software OS4 posted by Hans on 26-Sep-2024 3:06:41 (447 reads) |
For a limited time I'm offering you a chance to get ZitaFTP Server for 20-40% off it regular price. Yes, that's up to 40% off!
Why? I just released a video showing Amiga developers who cross-compile their Amiga software on a PC/Mac, how to copy those file to their Amiga for testing.
You don't need to be a developer to take advantage of this special offer. Here's how:
- To get 20% off: use the following coupon code at checkout: AMIGACODER20
- To get 40% off: join the Kea Campus. You'll find the coupon code on the campus' home page If you join as a Creator or Elite member, then you also get a fully downloadable template for everything you've seen in this video, and more.
Click here to get ZitaFTP Server.
IMPORTANT: This offer ends October 12, 2024, so go get it now.
What Can You Do With FTP(S)?
FTP is great for transferring files to/from another computer. Install ZitaFTP Server on one machine, and use an FTP client (e.g., Filezilla on a PC, or rnoxfer on the Amiga).
ZitaFTP Server supports end-to-end encryption (i.e., FTPS or FTPES), so your files are safe and secure in transit between machines.
P.S., I've never offered such a large discount before, and am unlikely to do so ever again. Take advantage of it now.

Airsoft Softwair, the hardest working men in code business, are back on your screen with version 2.0 of the SID plugin for Hollywood. Once this plugin is installed, Hollywood will "automagically" be able to play SID files just like any other audio file. Version 2.0 is a major update which now uses completely different SID core. Version 1.x of the SID plugin was based on the rather outdated TinySID core whereas version 2 now uses the state-of-the-art cRSID replayer written by Hermit (Mihaly Horvath) which features a much more accurate SID emulation that also supports the RSID format (Real SID). Additionally, version 2.0 comes with several other new features like the possibility to set the SID model to emulate (6581 or 8580) and several convenience enhancements for users of Hollywood 10.
A demo applet which demonstrates the playback of a SID file is included. This applet can also be run using the freely available Hollywood Player so people who don't own the full version of Hollywood can check it out as well.
You can download the plugin from the official Hollywood portal. Thanks to Hollywood's cross-platform plugin system versions for AmigaOS3, AmigaOS4, MorphOS, WarpOS, AROS (x86), Linux (arm, ppc, x86, x64), macOS (arm64, ppc, x86, x64), Windows (x86, x64), Android and iOS are provided.
To download SID music visit the High Voltage SID Collection.
This release was brought to you by Airsoft Softwair - the hardest working men in code business.

25 years of the Amiga Future Webpage |
News posted by AndreasM on 9-Sep-2024 9:47:02 (214 reads) |
On 9/9/99 the Amiga Future Webpage went online for the first time. That was exactly 25 years ago.
Initially intended as an information source for the print magazine, the homepage has grown to a huge size over the years.
A few small examples:
- News section with current news about the Amiga. - 7,000 German and 2,000 English test reports, workshops, specials and so on - Over 100 issues of Amiga Future to read online - All old Amiga Joker issues to read online - One of the most comprehensive event calendars for the Amiga. - Several thousand downloads, including almost 1,000 full versions for the Amiga. - One of the largest databases for the Amiga with cheats and solutions for 1,900 games. - The ASD, one of the largest information collections for Amiga user software. - A huge gallery... including pictures from 50 Amiga events.
Of course there is also a link collection, forum, FAQ and much more.
We are currently looking for support to keep the free content on the Amiga Future website up to date.
We would like to thank all users who have supported us with the homepage and of course with the print magazine.
And of course all visitors to the website. Without you the website wouldn't really have any meaning. ;)

AmiWest 2024 |
Events posted by tekmage on 3-Sep-2024 6:07:13 (963 reads) |
Hello Amiga community,
It's about 60 days until AmiWest 2024, and the planning team and I have been busy getting everything in place. If you're considering attending, now is a great time to act. The hotel has rooms available at a special show rate until October 4th. The banquet ticket sign-up page is available. The raffle items are coming in, and exhibitors are signing up.
This year, the show theme is gaming, and we will bring many games to the show floor—games like those in the AmiWest Games Competition. I use the plural because, unlike years past, Jerry and his sons are bringing us two fantastic modern classic games: Donkey Kong 500 and Hop to the Top—Bunny's Revenge.
We're thrilled the show is on track to have nearly 40 active tables, making it one of the largest shows in many years. We're also excited to welcome back many familiar faces: Doug Compton, Trevor Dickinson, Bill Panagouleas, Michael Salcedo, and David Coombs. And we're honored to have the legendary Commodore Engineer David Haynie with us.
One of the long-time features of the show has been the AmiWest DevCon. In past years, we set aside the show's first two days to host the DevCon in person. While it was great to spend time person working on development, the attendance has been historically small, and many of our presenters were remote. When we created the AmiWest DevCon, we envisioned it as a way to enable more Amiga programmers. To improve For 2024, we will pilot a shorter online event. Having it online would be a better format to achieve those goals. We have yet to set the exact date and time, but we expect an announcement in the coming weeks.
With the DevCon change, we are reducing the four-day show to three days. Friday will feature long-form general presentations covering topics for the general Amiga user. Please note that we still have a few slots open for speakers. Please get in touch with us to share your Amiga project at the show.
The last item to announce is the banquet speaker. For AmiWest 2024, we have asked Trevor Dickinson to present. Trevor has been a fantastic supporter of AmiWest for over a decade. I fondly recall his first AmiWest presentation and how he charted the growth of his family with the development of his Amiga collection. Since then, Trevor has been a prolific supporter of the Amiga Community with numerous projects such as A-Eon, which brought the AmigaOne line of PPC-based systems, high-performance video drivers for OS 4, and enhancer software. Recently, he has published his 3rd installment of his Vultures to Vampires series; I highly recommend it to every Amiga fan, and it will be for sale at the show.
Trevor will speak about "What is an Amiga in 2024? " Having written three books on the topic, no one is better positioned to ask and answer that question. Join us on Saturday, October 26th, to hear Trevor speak and enjoy the AmiWest banquet.
In closing, AmiWest 2024 is going to be another great show. The organizing committee—Jerry Gray, Chris Toast, Brian Carpignano, and I—has been working all year to put the show together, and we are excited about 2024!
