| The previous update brought to surface a couple of nasty bugs, but with this update they will not show up anymore. But that's not all: the occasion has been seized also to raise the number of missions to 40 and to add a new translation!

A-EON and Varisys announce Partnership |
| Hardware News posted by Rogue on 18-Jun-2010 10:43:05 (27034 reads) |
London, 17th June 2010
A-EON Technology CVBA and Varisys Ltd., are pleased to announce their partnership in the development of the AmigaOne X1000 hardware platform for AmigaOS.
Varisys Ltd were identified as the ideal hardware partner for the ambitious project to create a new, genuinely modern computer system to run AmigaOS4.x in late 2008, even before the formal creation of A-EON Technology. In early 2009, Varisys Ltd began work on developing a new PowerPC based motherboard, codenamed Nemo, which would form the heart of the new AmigaOne X1000 computer. After months of design and testing, Varisys delivered the first Nemo prototypes in late 2009 and have now completed a Revision 2 design, which will be supplied to beta testers under the recently announced Extended Beta Test Program.

And so we come to the final part of the great AWompetition to celebrate the Amiga's 25th Anniversary. To get this far you have been able to identify at least 100 "Amiga faces" and 25 Amiga images with the correct quantity of each. You also managed to find 28 Boing Balls and correctly identified Dave Needle as the mystery Amigan in the spacesuit.
It's been a long hard road and many have fell by the wayside, turned crossed eyed by red & white checked balls or brain dead trying to solve a riddle worthy of the Sphinx. Unbelievable there are still four of you in with a chance of claiming the grand prizes: an AmigaOne X1000 computer donated by Trevor Dickinson & A-EON Technology; and a copy of AmigaOS4 for Classic donated by Hyperion-Entertainment

Amigan Software are proud to announce that V14.09 of the AmiArcadia emulator has been ported to OS4. This is a massive upgrade from the previous OS4 release (V8.3), adding, among other features, the best emulation of the Astro Wars, Galaxia and Malzak 1 & 2 coin-ops of any emulator (including MAME), and the only support for the Central Data 2650, Chaos 2 and Dolphin computers of any emulator. Also, the Dutch and Russian languages are now supported. This is the most advanced emulator of any of the supported machines, on any platform. Now the best Signetics emulation is available on OS4 too. Thanks to Samir Hawamdeh and Alexandre Balaban for their help with the OS4 port.

Part 5: Identify the Mystery Spaceman
“Use the riddle identify the name of the historical Amigan inside the spacesuit”
Thanks to the combined riddles skills and twisted minds of Andrew Korn and TrevorDick we are pleased? to announce that none of you correctly identified the Mystery Amigan in the spacesuit. Therefore we decided that the “Amiga Forever” prize would be split equally between Andrew and Trevor. However since Trevor already has a copy of “Amiga Forever” and Andrew doesn’t own a Windows PC we were forced to give you all a second chance, and some more clues!
Somehow, at the second attempt, at least five of you managed to decipher the riddle’s mind numbing clues using a combination of tea leaves, runes and inspired guesswork and of course correctly answered that David (Dave) Needle, original Amiga hardware designer of the Agnus chip and system board (etc) was the Mystery Amigan inside the spacesuit.
Therefore the hardworking AmigaWorld Moderators were once again called in to exercise their collective brain cell and this time they chose drhir... stop it now! Sorry this time Gabriele Peterle a.k.a. Peterray was chosen as the lucky winner!
Congratulations to Peterray who will receive a copy “Amiga Forever”, the premier Classic Amiga Emulation & History package donated by Cloanto.
And many thanks again to Cloanto for your generous donation.
