Amigaworld.net News   APC&TCP: NEW boxed game set release - Ad Cosmos Ex Terra - Boxed Edition
Amigaworld.net News posted by AndreasM on 3-Dec-2021 13:08:39 (848 reads)
Ad Cosmos Ex Terra contains these three games:

- Lumberjack Revision
- Pong4b
- Jump Besi Jump

... and comes on floppy disk in a DVD type case, which includes a games booklet and a folded A3 poster!

Lumberjack Revision and Pong4b were already released as boxed versions by another publisher.

However, that release didn't quite go the way it should have ... and that's why we decided to support the programmer by releasing a boxed version of all three games, as a 3-in-1 boxed set.

Of course, games originally released by the author can still be downloaded from the author's itch.io webpage.

However, our boxed edition includes a DVD sized plastic case containing a floppy disk with the three games on it, a conveniently sized small games booklet and a folded A3 poster.

As usual, you can also download this boxed edition game set free of charge via our online shop once you've bought it.

There are images of the collectable boxed edition in our online shop at https://www.amigashop.org

The minimum system requirements are: Amiga 500 with at least 1 MB of RAM.

Updates from Lumberjack Reloaded to Revision:

- trees are no longer infintely tall, though trees are very tall and get taller each and every level, but you're able to reach the top of it to complete the end of the level
- there are 8 levels
- odd numbered levels are spring/summer themed, even ones are winter themed
- in odd levels there's a bee that can stun you for a few moments
- the screen imitates a 'trembling/shaking' effect while you're "drunk"!

Updates from Pong4 to Pong4b:

- sprites are from the CD32 version
- revisited music module playing, so now it plays during gameplay as well

software Classic   hURL 1.2 released
software Classic posted by softwarefailure on 21-Nov-2021 13:35:18 (1843 reads)

Airsoft Softwair, the hardest working men in code business, are back on your screen with a major update of hURL - the ultimate multi-protocol data transfer plugin for Hollywood which allows Hollywood scripts to transfer data using all kinds of different network protocols including full SSL support. Version 1.2 is a major update that now supports Hollywood 9's extended network adapter so that Hollywood's DownloadFile() and UploadFile() functions can now handle all protocols supported by hURL instead of just HTTP. This makes it much easier to use hURL because you often don't have to use hURL's lowlevel interface any longer but can just use DownloadFile() or UploadFile() instead.

hURL supports an incredibly wide range of transfer protocols, e.g. DICT, FILE, FTP, FTPS, Gopher, HTTP, HTTPS, IMAP, IMAPS, LDAP, LDAPS, POP3, POP3S, RTMP, RTSP, SCP, SFTP, SMB, SMBS, SMTP, SMTPS, Telnet and TFTP. As with all Hollywood plugins, hURL comes with extensive documentation in various formats like PDF (over 300 pages!), HTML, AmigaGuide, and CHM that contains detailed descriptions about all functions and methods offered by the plugin.

All of this makes hURL the ultimate data transfer tool for Hollywood that contains everything you need to send and receive data via almost any transfer protocol on the planet.

hURL is now available for free download from the official Hollywood portal. Thanks to Hollywood's cross-platform plugin system versions for AmigaOS3 (m68k), AmigaOS 4, MorphOS, Linux (ppc, arm, x86, x64), macOS (ppc, x86, x64), Windows (x86, x64), Android (arm, arm64), and iOS (arm, arm64) are provided.

Note that on AmigaOS and compatibles, AmiSSL 4.x is required by hURL for SSL transfers. Since this isn't available in a native MorphOS version yet, you can just use the 68k version of AmiSSL 4 on MorphOS. It has been verified to work fine with hURL.

This release was brought to you by Airsoft Softwair, the hardest working men in code business.

News posted by Daff on 1-Nov-2021 13:34:52 (2570 reads)
The magazine Obligement is active on the Amiga scene since 1997. New articles of all kind are regulary added on its website. And the number of articles has now passed the 7000 mark! To celebrate this big number, the 6999e and 7000e articles published are the original review of the Amiga 1000 PAL and NTSC.

Unfortunatly, the translation engine of the website is no more functional (thanks Google ). We are searching an alternative solution for our non-french speaking readers.

The following articles have been added to the website of the Amiga magazine Obligement (http://obligement.free.fr) during the last two months:

- September/October 2021 news.
- Old articles from Joystick 29 to 32: News: Street Fighter 2 an eventful arrival, Interview with Thierry Magnaldi, Review of Ween The Prophecy, Review of Sim Life, Review of The Aquatic Games, News: Accolade in American time, Interview with David Braben, Review of The Carl Lewis Challenge, Review of Civilization, News: Silmarils' new products for summer 1992, Review of Winter Supersports 92, Review of G-LOC R360, etc.
- Interview with Benoît Wiblé (crazy manager of Relec).
- Review of Inviyya.
- File: Monkey Island, or how Ron Gilbert created an adventure game that didn't suck.
- File: What happen to Eyetech Group? (second part).
- File: Amiga history, years 1984-2003 (update).
- File: Zool Arcade.
- File: History of ERBE Software/Topo Soft.
- Hardware: Amiga 1000 PAL and Amiga 1000 NTSC.
- Programming: Introduction to MUI programming on MorphOS.
- Tutorial: Printing on AmigaOS 4 via GoogleCloudPrint.
- Special quiz about Xtreme Racing.
