News   Gateway Sold to Acer
News posted by -Sam- on 27-Aug-2007 19:07:57 (3438 reads)
Gateway is no more - having been sold to Acer for $710 million dollars. They never really recovered after selling off their European business and will now form part of the Taiwanese PC manufacturer. Link: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/6965520.stm

This must mean that Acer now owns the Amiga patents. I bet they don't even know they own them.

Events   Pictures of our Music C= Show
Events posted by ronvs on 27-Aug-2007 10:09:23 (2033 reads)
There are three pages with pictures online of our august 2007 C= Show. This time's theme was music with the Amiga or C64. In spite of the summer season it was a very well visited show and there were a lot of nice things to see and to do. Curious for the pictures? Look at our website:
http://commodore-gg.hobby.nl/

On september 22 we're back with a extra C= Show in the south of Holland (Kerkrade, Limburg) and on october 20 we have invited a lot of other Retro Computer groups and museums on our show at the Trefpunt in Maarssen. This will be a spectaculair event!

Software News   HivelyTracker 1.4 is released for OS4, OS3.x and AROS!
Software News posted by xeron on 24-Aug-2007 21:14:13 (3437 reads)
HivelyTracker is a tracker program based upon the AHX format created in the mid '90s by Dexter and Pink of Abyss.
The format was relatively popular, and many songs were created and used in scene productions and games.
AHX was designed to create a very SID-like sound on the Amiga.

HivelyTracker can import and export modules and instruments in the AHX format, but it also improves on AHX
in several ways and therefore has its own instrument and module formats.

Today, version 1.4 was released for OS4, OS3.x and AROS!

Software News   OpenSSH 4.6p1-2 Features and Fixes
Software News posted by ssolie on 20-Aug-2007 13:56:51 (3843 reads)
Thanks to feedback from the Amiga community I have been able to add some features and fix some bugs in my OpenSSH port to make it better than ever. For example, I can edit files with vi from my Mac OS X box with TERM set to 'amiga' using standard CON:. No other special software required.
