News   Amiga Future search editors and translators
News posted by AndreasM on 10-Mar-2021 15:00:48 (995 reads)
We are looking for additional editorial assistance for our Amiga Future magazine.

Specifically we are looking for an editor with sufficient (lots and lots of) experience using an Amiga.

Interested? Then get in touch with the Amiga Future editorial staff.

However, you should ensure you own the following:

- An Amiga :)
- Fundamental knowledge of the Amiga
- Very good spelling in your native language (German or English!)
- Experience at writing test report(s)
- And of course, spare time and lots of interest in Amigas :)

We are also looking for translators for the magazine. Requirements are:

Translation of German -> English; also you should;

1. speak your native language (English) very well and submit correct spelling and grammar in written article(s).
2. have a good understanding of the German/Deutsch language as well.
3. be able to understand what you are actually translating.

So there is a definite need for basic, and sometimes technical, knowledge of the Amiga required in many cases.

Amigaworld.net News posted by DiscreetFX on 6-Mar-2021 17:25:34 (2794 reads)
We are very happy to announce the winner of the Vampire V4 Contest. This contest required no purchase and was a gift to one lucky winner in the Amiga community. The winner was randomly selected by an Amiga number generator application. Kevin's Vampire order request has already been submitted and he will also get an awesome brand Amiga joystick from AmigaKit when his Vampire V4 is ready to ship. Here are the links from the hardware developers to order the joystick and a Vampire for anyone else interested in buying them.

software Classic   Adventure game "Ermentrud" is coming this year finally
software Classic posted by Timo on 21-Feb-2021 17:57:30 (1860 reads)

The point’n’click adventure "Ermentrud" was originally developed between 2001 and 2004 for Amigas with a graphics card, but then abandoned. It was set in a medieval world and offered an absurd plot with absurd humor. And the hero had a cardboard horse.

Website

It will be released this year after all, even if not in the scope planned at the time. It will contain all the original graphics, sounds and music, but the storyline will be revised.

So far only a German version is planned. It is not yet clear whether there will be other languages. The game will be available for free.

hardware OS4   Kea Sigma Delta's Amiga laptop project pushes forward, now redesigned
hardware OS4 posted by Petah on 9-Feb-2021 15:54:00 (995 reads)
AmigaWorld.net regulars may remember that Hans de Ruiter - head of the New Zealand based Amiga development company Kea Sigma Delta and author of the Radeon graphics card drivers that a lot of current generation Amigas rely on - is committed to designing a laptop PowerPC powered Amiga.

On Monday, February 8th de Ruiter took to YouTube to announce that the project has been restarted. While no specific reasons were mentioned in the unlisted video, de Ruiter suggested that a fresh start will allow for a more solid platform to build on.

Although details outlining the new design are promised up ahead, the new revision is said to have a whole different power management and display setup. Interested users are encouraged to follow Kea Sigma Delta's future endeavours by signing up to the company's laptop mailing list.
