News   Second gamer dies after massive binge
News posted by DaveyD on 25-Oct-2002 8:18:24 (3630 reads)
Just days after the first 'internet overdose', another addict has died after a marathon games binge.
The 27 year-old Taiwanese man collapsed after playing computer games for 32 hours non-stop.

Police confirmed that Lien Wen-cheng started playing at the cyber cafe in Fengyuan in central Taiwan at 10.30pm on Thursday.

At 7am on Saturday, a staff member found the man on the floor of the cafe's toilet foaming at the mouth and bleeding from the nose. "They rushed him to hospital but he was already dead," local police said.

Hardware News   Deathbed Vigil on DVD
Hardware News posted by _Steve_ on 24-Oct-2002 21:57:20 (3581 reads)
Dave Haynie wrote in the comp.sys.amiga.harwdware newsgroup: "I'm in the final stages of the preparation of a DVD edition of "The Deathbed Vigil and other tales of digital angst". For those who've been living, well, in the normal mainstream of modern life and don't know this, this is the film I made about the end of Commodore." There's also a "contest" where you can get your words on the DVD.
