First look of FreeCiv OS4
Description: FreeCiv OS4 was originally compiled way way back as an ugly hack to get around guigfx library dependencies. The resulting code was unstable and needed more work than I had time for.
For the first time since ... ooooh June ... I took a second look at the build tree, used idltool and generated a guigfx stub to build FreeCiv running on OS4. Guigfx and render.library being 68k slow it down abit, but it works and a hell of a lot faster than the 68k version. The server which never really worked well in emulation on 68k is now slick and responsive.
The MUI interface you see here is ported, and is OK, but a better interface in Reaction will come later ( when its done TM ).
Once Im happy with the current port it will go up in os4depot along with the source code creator binary to follow the current tradition of blocking access to source code for other platforms started elsewhere.
It shouldn't be hard to get this working on AROS/Zune once the guigfx deps are gone. So if its no work, or little work, or whatever it will be done TM.

First Workbench after 5 years away!
Description: Had my Sam 440ep flex (OS4.1 update 2) for just over a week now and loving it (for the most part) so far!
Last Amiga was a microA1 with early OS4.0 which I sold on about 5 years ago. Things have moved on nicely since then and OS4.1 is a treat.
Favourite Workbench 4.1 features so far: + show .info files option in window menu + new view by name set up is great, especially when working with mp3s +Ringhio + default theme and window transparency (nice without being OTT) + icons are the best ever, beautiful +power on to google search page time is amazing (so quick!)
Not so sure about: - context menus (turned off in WBStartup, seemed a bit clunky and unnecessary, would rather see standard WB menu further enhanced - prefs drawer is a bit confusing and could do with some prefs being integrated, e.g. AHI and Sound, Printers - some stuff seems redundant, like Picasso96 prefs, PlayCD (TuneNet better and included anyway) - WBPattern, doesn't scale and keep asect ratio of backdrops which is annoying with a widescreen display
Favourite programs so far: + OWB is fantastic, I actually prefer to Firefox (apart from lack of flash), really nice feel and fast + TuneNet + DvPlayer + Celestia, very cool and filling a hole since Wonders of the Solar System series finished on the BBC + ADRipper is great for making mp3 files from CDs + SimpleMail, always used YAM in the past but thought I would try for a change and so far so good

Helgis Magical Pre-OS4 Upd2 Xmas Screenshot!
Description: This is my magical Xmas-background of a Christmas tree with golden crystal balls. There is snow on the ground, and notice the beautiful night with the stars shining! Now, isn't that just a magical Christmas spirit? Even that the background is raytraced, it looks very realistic! Vote this one! The background has been compressed and saved with ArtEffect Pro :-)
As you can see, i'm running Update 2 of the Pre-OS4.0, and the system is extremely fast and smooth on my 933Mhz A1G3XE. My system is much more stable, smoother, faster and better than earlier! I'm very happy about it! On the screenshot, you also see the transparent calender, analog and digital clock:-) I adjusted the colours to match the entire system. If you look closely on my AmiDock, you'll see i have AmigaAMP 2.13, the one compiled for OS4.0:-)
Enjoy the screenshot and start voting again! :-)

Helgis Pre4-OS4.0
Description: An old shot of my old Pre4 AmigaOS 4.0 setup using a modified Zami-theme similar to the BeOS-style, all running on an 1Ghz AmigaOne G4-XE in 2005 to 2006, before been destroyed by a failed overclocking attempt.
I want to donate this shot to others, so that they can be inspired to modify the Zami-theme with BeOS-look using round corners and such of the AmigaOS 4.1..

Helgis XMas Celebration AquaX Pre-OS4 Update 1 Screenshot!
Description: The perhaps most spiritual Christmas background up to date! With Xmasbench! Although, that effect doesn't seems to work so very well and might be deleted. I only use it sometimes as long as it doesn't cause a lock up. It's not very OS4 friendly. Although, the background itself is just magical and make you feel right at home this Christmas! Well, a very soon Merry Christmas then! Start voting! .-D
