My true self? I think I've been this self all the time. What I don't like is people that are here just to poke fun at our user base, and that is exactly what you do. First some of you post on moobunny, then you come here and do this? After that you tell me I'm not "funny" enough? Not ok man, not ok!

You do know you posted a link of someone calling Red a fanboy correct?

Yup, you just posted a link to someone calling me a CUSA fanboy on another site. I guess that someone was you? Pretty pathetic, I had no idea you were were one of the Moob trolls.

Well, but it's the behavior in general I'm after. Maybe I am indeed over-reacting in this particular case, but I find the schoolyard mentality increasingly annoying. Post there first, then post here, and finally bring it back there. OTOH this post isn't someone calling redrumloa a fanboy:

No, that wasn't me. My IP always has 84.217 in the beginning, and have had so for the last 8 or so years. I'll be changing in February though, not that would change anything. I always post using my own name/nick.

EDIT:
Good one, I see that little stunt will make me famous for at least 15 minutes now...

Funny, I didn't think AWN was a division of Hyperion.

Like to point out how I was wrong to have an opinion? Why aren't you ripping into Fab or kas1e for having the same opinion? I also didn't come here to AWN kissing ass. You are also cherry picking Moob posts, why not link this one?

http://moobunny.dreamhosters.com/cgi/mbmessage.pl/amiga/210936.shtml

There is a stench coming from this thread and this site today, congrats. I thought this stench was long gone. Silly me.

Perhaps I've missed the point of this whole thread, but WTF has this to do with Hyperion?

You clearly said "I guess the Koolaid flavored realiy continues at Hyperion and in the Kommunity." No need to bring in Hyperion at all.

Opinion isn't wrong, that is not what I'm about. I think I was pretty clear that I didn't approve of the moobunny AmigaWorld moobunny game.

I didn't read it? Well, thanks for that.

Not following really. If it would have been from the old days this thread would have been gone, I wouldn't be here trying to sort this out, and you would be restricted for 30-60 days. Clearly it's a different stench today.

I'm not sure why you're assuming this thread is about Hyperion?

Wow, this has turned into one the saddest threads ever in my humble opinion.

Firstly, so freaking what in regards to the placement of the mplayer window? It's hardly like there's any money invested in the need for youtube one OS4.x. No one was deceived or lied to. No one was ripped off financially. No dogs, cats or rabbits where sacrificied in the making of the screenshot. Yes its a little misleading, but so what? It may not have even been intentionally misleading. I for one will sometimes place the video window in about the same position when I watch youtue videos on OS3.x/amithlon.

Now equally sad was the need to blur the c64x images on that screenshot. OS4.x is a niche, expensive platform. Blurring images on a screenshot of a website is hardly going to be a game changer in any way shape or form.

Now saddest of all is how this thread has "evolved".
It this, completely humdrum screenshot has casused this sort of reaction, then y'all take your hobbies way too seriously. Try getting out a little, or watch a movie. Heck, even spend some time with your loved ones, or if you have none, try hiring someone to love you :P None of the above is nearly as fucked up as this thread :)

The saddest thing is that when someone points out that screenshot is misleading he gets flamed. If Hyperion publishes such screenshot on their public website it should be also allowed to complain about it publicly.

But no, if you find out something is wrong you should just shut up and be quiet.

Nothing wrong with pointing it out. People are entitles to thier opinions. It's the way things have been tackled, from both sides of the fence that I find particularly ridiculous and the way it has (de-)evolved.

Heck, Im not even particularly an OS4.x fan (well I have no qualm with OS4.x itself, just most other things about it Im pretty disappointed about), and I still find this thread one of the most rabid displays of amiga stupidity, from all corners in quite a while.

You are right. The screenshot was (seems to be gone now) just stupid.

>>Note the absense of the word 'some'.

Yes which I then added. Calm down. I just wanted to know what happened, all I noticed was this reoccurring pattern from SOME MOS users here and over at amiga.org that's it.

Jeez man why do you take it so personally?

Like in any good marriage, when the emotional charging due to things said and done in the past kicks in, you can forget about any fact-based discussion.

While I was thank God not here during the war (I only know it from old men's tales), I get a taste of it from this thread here. It may have been considered provoking hinting at a clearly misleading foto on an official website, but the touchy reaction from the other side stands for itself, too.

You know, there's this football team I have supported for a long time now. I cannot remember the reason and while they suck pretty much at playing football I will defend them in any discussion despite the facts. And there's this other team I really, really hate. Maybe there was an event long forgotten in the past that triggered this, may several events added up in my one-sided perception (for a long period of time they sucked much less than we did) or maybe it is common sense for the fans of my team to hate the arch enemy.

There is no such thing as "objectivity" or "truth" cause no one experiences his/her environment without emotions. One more trait I envy Spock for.

But the problem with this thread is that there is no problem!

I believe that the original poster made a futile and childish attempt at throwing mud around and apart from me wanting to know about the "bitterness" and "venom" I knew existed (but I am still not aware of the reasons why), no biggie, no major scoop. It's not like showing pictures of a non existing factory etc...etc...

Whoever put the player on top of the browser may feel a little silly, it's not that OS4 users are going tor run around shouting, spit on their machine and move to MOS just because MOS can play it in a window for real. If the "war" was really about these little things then I have missed nothing.
