@All

I made a new video probably some of you can found it interesting. There is:

https://youtu.be/Yq__c-9bg70

Video about installing fresh AmigaOS3.2 on AmigaOS4.1 on my x5000 via EUAE with JIT enabled. It includes receiving, unpacking, installing, finetuning, testing, etc. Working screen mode 1920x1080x32 + all the hacks and patches so can be interesting for everyone who wants to emulate OS3.2 and 68k software on AmigaOS4.1

Enjoy!

Why dont hyperion get out of court and actually do something with OS4 like intergrate 3.2 into it so you dont need to run euae.

@g01df1sh

Because that require copper planar emulation, its stupendously CPU intensive, you do not won’t to have that running in the background, all the time, a simplified version of it is doable, just fake screen and believe it be better they what they have now. But again, it should only be used if required, the Paula emulation is not so hard, but CIAA/CIAB emulation is also a CPU drain, most none system friendly programs and demos pull state of timer (or mouse buttons) in a busy loop, that all fine as long as it’s not the OS does the timing, anyway it not ideal in multitasking OS in background, programs should never poll states, they should always wait for states, and OS/driver should push states. tasks should wake up when their stuff to do, not the other way around.

Now if we had SMP support, the can have one core running at 100% doing emulation, while the other core is handling the OS.

AmigaOS4.1 current fake screens, are running only at 640x480, and does not include scaling, the better fake mode hack! on github i wrote fixes some issues, but brings its own bag of worms. There is lot that be improved on fake screen modes, DBPAL, DBNTSC, and planar priority (if no modeid is set) for 68K programs, can help a lot.

@g01df1sh

Because while Ben is owner of OS4, almost none real programmers want to have anything with it OS4 except few from old times, but even they have not much free time for hobby. Real programmers need to be paid, and then everything can be done. And transparent emulationg of all chips of old amigas (taking in account that winuae/uae sources open and everythng is much more better documented today than 10-20 years ago).

Lot of interesting stuff can be done.

But ..

@g01df1sh

Of course , and not only that. But the way how he threat those ones who help him for free, and those who help os4. On my memory there were few ppls who pieced off from managment because of him : Costel, Ssolie, Benny and who else who was before. They all don't want to have anythng common with him anymore (at least Costel and Benny for sure). Add how he sued his own friend Tim, and so Tim no more in os4 team and want have nothing common with him, or hyperion, or os4.

So, it's and about money, and about managment, and about a proffesionals who one by one leave team, because of Ben, beucase of never ended law suits, never ended promises and so on and so on. Good that at least AEON hold some kind of interest , but they also pretty silent lately and their ####up with Tabor quite bold too.

@g01df1sh

The trouble with Ben is that his "business model" is based on other people working for him for free while he grabs all the earnings. Other cornerstones of his "model" include breaking promises, deceiving business partners, and using legal and financial tricks to keep his shell company afloat.
