There is no chance at all. Your board might even not have the chip on it at all either.
Cheap cards that work: SB128 Terratec 512i SB Live!

Depends on the card ofcourse! If it's an SB128 (also called SB AudioPCI97, SB PCI, SB Vibra, SB 64(V)), it should work. SB16's don't work for example. _________________ Audio Evolution http://www.audio-evolution.com |

Yes. The SBLive 5.1 will work. If you have the money, I would go for that before a cheap CMI card.
About the onboard audio, it will never work on the original A1. From what I understand, it was designed without complete specs and therefore, never correctly connected (this has been fixed on the microA1). I do think they could have cut some costs by dropping the supporting chips and rear Audio Ports.
Your best bet is to just buy an inexpensive SBLive and you'll have much better sound than the onboard stuff anyway.

The built-in gameport works though, so if the SB Audigy2 works with OS4, might that be a good idea, since there is no gameport in it, instead there is Firewire. If there will be a driver for the Firewire is another matter of course.

Uhm... he said _cheap_ board - last time I checked the Audigy 2 wasn't nowhere near being cheap... But perhaps an Audigy bulk could do it _________________ AmigaOne Owner since 2002. The first person to get a Linux installer running on the AmigaOne :- |

| Sorry if this is not the place to ask . . .
I would like to have a am/fm radio tuner for my A1. Would such a card work with the A1 and OS 4?
Thanks,

Don't get me wrong, the card could work if there was supporting drivers and software - there just isn't any of that right now, so presently, it can not work.
I'm sure someone can write drivers and supporting software before OS5

I'm currently using a SBlive 5.1 digital board on my pegasos and sound quality is wonderful. And it only costed me EUR 39, so yep, it can be considered cheap I think :) |

Audigy offers a range of products, including budget-friendly options. Some users may find them affordable for their needs. However, prices can vary based on specifications and promotions at the time. It's best to check current deals or customer reviews for accurate pricing information. |
