Flex PCI-AGP riser, and a DC – DC adapter and some battery power, and you laptop, maybe you need modify some the plugs in the back.

I just found this on amiga.org:

The A600 certainly has "back".

Well, I haven't tried any cases yet. But looking at the mounting holes they
do not fit any standard holes. However, I think this would work just fine
for mounting the board in a Mini-ITX or any other case.

@Gleng

According to Frank Mariak, at the USB/Network connector the height is about 3.2 cm. The height with the AGP riser added is 3.6 cm. Due to the connectors of the graphics board he uses the total height is 3.8 cm. Thus you should calculate with 4 cm minimum.

But please keep on mind the v formation of the A600 case - I don't know if the height would indeed be sufficient at the place you'd like to put the board.

It may well need some hacking , but something like this would be ok:

SCSI External storage

Smaller one

Nicer one

Cool. How well do they stick? Is there any chance of them coming loose if the case gets a bit warm?

I haven't tried them yet. I must find a case first.

I must say though, that they are made for circuit boards so
I guess heat would be no issue.

And the EFIKA doesn't get hot anyway.. :)

So, any companies selling a pre-assembled system? I'd envision something about the size and shape of a MacMini...

The images you took for your article are stored at amigans.com?

@Gleng
It's quite fun to read about someone's planned Amiga project, rather than the usual arguments, even if it is for a mobo that won't ever run OS4. AW.net might even get exciting again...

@ChrisH et al

Well, it can certainly run like this:

Opportunity Meets Preparation

It would be a mistake to underestimate the creativity and inspiration of a Community...

What do you mean? BBRV posted about more opportunities
for the EFIKA. This is an EFIKA thread.

@ironfist

...and a MacOSX thread, and a REBOL thread, and an Apache webserver thread, and almost anything you want thread, etc. That is the point of the EFIKA.

There is Change Afoot and as The EFIKA Comes to Life it brings opportunity knocking. It's just a question of being prepared.

Be sure, we are!

How about an Amiga(tm) thread ??

Any news about this? I'd love to run AmigaOS on this little baby.

Sincerely,

@Yo

Oui, sort of...

There is plenty of very solid thought and information in those posts that represent much more than a commercial message. We think the Amiga Community and the Demo Scene gave birth to the spirit that led strongly to the whole open source movement - particularly in Europe. Intellectually, this notion and others can be debated, as can various approaches to marketing and development. Is this a Forum for such serious discussions?

People are the key and our focus. The nature of all good marketing finds the concentration there. "Community" is the nexus of value and begins with one (that was just a few days ago). Many "amigos y amigas" all working together to create more than the sum of the parts will bring back not only the Amiga Community but foster a power of much, much more. You will see.

@shoe

There will be an Amiga trademarked solution on the EFIKA.

We have a license. It really is that simple. We will be back when it is ready.

Until then! Best wishes to all for a wonderful Holiday Season.

Best regards,
R&B
