The Parallels Virtual Machine has this thing they call Coherence to make it look like you are running Windows applications as though they are native to Mac. It doesn't display the Windows desktop, just the windows.
Parallels Coherence

Why can't a next gen Amiga OS run UAE the same way?

Wouldn't this essentially solve most of the problems with the UAE integration in AROS?

Ok. Going back to my happy place now.

@ikir

BEOS has a special 3 key combination to let it's windows look like mac, windows 95, and Amiga.

@BigBentheAussie

I don't like the Coherence Mode. On my Mac i saw the hole time the damn Windows XP Task Bar over my Dock...

But i would love to see an seamless integration of anything like UAE (or maybe an CloneA PCI Card) into the AmigaOS4.x

@BigBentheAussie

Reminds me of all the times I tried to use Remote Desktop and VNC in WinUAE to log in to my own machine to try and do the same thing so I could use Windows in a Window on Workbench.

Never worked of course. I guess if I ever did get it to loop back I'd only see myself using WinUAE on my Windows desktop anyway and that would be put in some sort of infinite loop and my machine would probably catch on fire or something.

Anyway, I had this idea a long time ago, just not smart enough to get to work

Back in my day, we didn't have water. We only had Oxygen & Hydrogen, & we'd just shove 'em together

AmigaOS inside of AmigaOS, it's quite different of having two alien OS fighting for primazy...

I understand your point. Running multiple operating systems concurrently can be complex and resource-intensive. It’s not common practice due to potential issues with compatibility and system stability. The idea might seem appealing but practicality often dictates a single, well-optimized OS environment for any given hardware setup.
