| Hello,
I have A600, A1200 with 1230, A1200 with Pistorm CM4, X5000 and A1222+ and lately I found that A1200 with classic 1230 accelerator offers more fun than A1200 with Pistorm (nothing against Pistorm, it is amazing solution, just feel like RTG, Wifi and etc. is out of this world for A1200).
So A1200 with 030 is used for games and X5000/A1222 more like daily driver (as much as this is possible)...

You know you can use pistorm without RTG etc.
I have great fun with an A1000 with pistorm, still using only OCS output on a matching 1084, with OS 3.2 configured as best I could to look like 1.x. I really wish there was a prefs for Intuition to make it really look exactly like 1.3 in terms of widgets, gadgets and window borders. _________________ B5D6A1D019D5D45BCC56F4782AC220D8B3E2A6CC |

Hello hlt.
Many years ago, I purchased an A2000HD for use by my family (my wife, son and me). We had a good suite of programs plus several games for children. Over the years, I added some more RAM, CDROM drive, flicker-fixer board and upgraded to AmigaOS 3.1.
Later, we joined the mainstream and purchased a series of Windows systems.
In 2004, I purchased an Eyetech Micro AmigaOne (aka Micro-A1 or MicroA1) motherboard with AmigaOS4 Developer's Pre-release operating system from a company in Eastern Canada. I was not a developer or a beta tester. I was just interested in trying something new. I got the other parts locally and built my own computer.
I purchased OS 3.2 with the intent to upgrade the A2000HD, but ended up installing it on my MicroA1 to use with E-UAE emulator.
Now, my A2000HD is in storage and I have used my MicroA1 and OS4 for 21 years.
In summary, my "Amiga" systems were A2000HD and MicroA1. I like both systems.

Something with a lot of power, low price, small form factor, AGA and RTG, compatible with modern monitors and TV.
A600GS https://www.a600gs.com/ Missing: brand name, keyboard RasPi+Amiberry https://www.raspberrypi.com/products/raspberry-pi-500-plus/ Missing: brand name, Amiberry, Roms THEA1200 https://retrogames.biz/news/thea1200-announce/ Missing: brand name, THEA1200 Vampire-A6000 https://retroport.de/vampire-a6000/#jp-carousel-25539 Missing: brand name, Affordability
There is a lot you can do if you like to tinker around, from RasPis with Amiberry, old Amigas with PiStorm to Minimigs .. if you like to tinker around, if you don't buy something that is ready and usable.

| Well for my definition of fun (stable, zero drama, productive software that does stuff, very actively developed, and not wasting entire weekends to get to where you started):
MorphOS... You choose the hardware. Mirari will be a great choice once it comes out or go with any compatible Mac. I use a PCIe PowerMac 11,2 40 hours a week and it fits my need of fun :).

C= A1200 with PiStorm32.
PiStorm-Emu68's RTG is an added benefit that can be disabled i.e. AGA is available for AGA games that need it e.g. Reshoot Proxima 3.
PiStorm32-Emu68 has CPU turtle mode to fake a slower 68K CPU.
As for WiFi, I have a Prism 2 PCMCIA card for my A1200, hence PiStorm32-Emu68's modern WiFi is not strange.
For C= A1200, PiStorm32-Emu68 can be fully disabled via a hot key during the cold boot sequence and revert to the stock A1200 configuration.
PiStorm32's CPU boost and RTG combo reminds me of Phase 5's BlizzardPPC with BlizzardVision RTG combo card for A1200.

Vampire A6000 is missing the 1st-party AmigaOS license. Vampire-A6000 ships with AROS-based ApolloOS.
I purchased AmigaOS 4.1 FE PowerPC with the Amiga Forever 2016 bundle.
My gaming PCs with Ryzen 9 7950X or 9950X3D can brute force AmigaOS 4.1 FE Update 3 with soft A4000/1.2 GB RAM /CyberStorm PPC/GREX PCI/Voodoo 3000 PCI configuration.

I try to return to classic Amiga and found that average LCD TV need additional computer to convert video signal like RGB2HDMI with pi and games on LCD TV don't look like in 1992
So I setup real classic Amiga that works like in 1992
My classic Amiga is:
Amiga 500 OCS 7 MHz Kickstart 1.3 0.5 MB CHIP RAM 0.5 MB SLOW RAM Commodore 1084S Monitor floppy changed to Gotek joystick changed to pad
I use it only for games and software like DP IV, SAS C, AsmOne, AMOS, PT 2.3 all written up to 1992
I use real true classic and I'm not interested in crap like pistorm
Amiga NG 68k I use vampire Amiga NG ppc I use old macs and some 4.x hardware

Only dedicated Amiga computer I actively use is Pegasos 2. Powerful (G4 1266 MHz), but quite loud and not very portable.
My main computer is a gaming laptop. Well suited for Amiga emulation, quiet, but it doesn't give that "feeling" of a real Amiga computer.
On travels, I use an old netbook (HP Mini 5103). Lightweight, enough power for Amiga games, but sometimes too loud for my taste (well, not on the level of Pegasos 2).
Using all these is fun, every one has its niche and I like them all. Well, maybe I like Pegasos 2 a little bit more than the other two. |

a Gotek? Nah, it's not belonging to a real Amiga. Pure modern crap.
@thread
MorphOS. It's still the most advanced, modern and matured Amiga-like system. |
