@amitv

unfortunately i don't think that info is coming.
the only reason to put out a vague announcement like that is to bolster interest. if they were to announce what the project actually is then the debate as to what it is would end. as long as it is talked about there is no reason to give any more info.

(personally i think when it is announced it would be a let down anyway.)

Actually, there isn't any more info coming at this point because we do not make any announcements until we can make firm commitments. That is why you didn't hear about the Pegasos II version until it was almost ready for release.

Think what you want, I still think you will be *very* surprised. But then, hey, I am just bolstering interest.

@jkirk

Why do you think it'd be a let-down?

As far as I know Hyperion has not let anyone here down yet and has even come up with a few surprises in the past. I think it'll be worth the wait.

@Rogue

Thanks for your commitment, just carry on

I wish it is a port of OS4.x to Pegasos 1 :)
But it's not very likely i'm afraid.

@fryguy

A port to Peg1 would hardly make people *very* surprised IMHO.

@Rogue

If you port OS4 to x86 now that I've ordered a SAM then I'll come in person and bang the board against your team's heads But seriously, keep it up (and keep us informed)!

Though isn't an announcement about an announcement still an announcement?

Now i'm definitively getting curious

Can't wait.

I'm sure you and the rest of the team will do a great work.

Just a thing: is the rest of the team involved? Dunno how many member count the OS4 dev team, tho.

True enough.

@Rogue

How about a few scraps to keep the wolves at bay?

Are you anticipating (if things continue to go well) that we will see this before end of year?

Hyperion knew when it said what it said on its webpage this would happen. Peg II was handled as you say, but this certainly was not.

Hmm, I'm not sure being *very* surprised is the same as not feeling let down. Certainly one can feel both of those at the same time. So to clarify are you saying you think this project will be of interest to most AOS 4.x desktop users?

Well their average customer is one. And those people who are not customers but wish they could be are aspirational 4.x users. So I'm curious if this project is viewed by them as something that group will appreciate.

OK, time to start the rumour mill bets! I've got £5 on a PS3 port with full RSX support.
