Same to me, but Minimig offers a working design, pay 50k to an designer (with Amiga background) and you could get something equal to a full expanded A2000 on a tiny board. |

For crying out loud @wawa, you did not just defend this ill-conceived crowdfunding project?
There is a clear line between aspirations, dreams, and delusions, but when someone puts "Amiga" in the mix you stop seeing the line. _________________ All the way, with 68k |

| Interesting to say there is such thing as building plans (PCB manufacturing schematics) in one place. From what was known projects got started and canceled so there were prototypes with notes attached to them.
Other thing is that I doubt anyone still has 90s technology to produce those custom chips as they were (well , maybe somewhere in the far east a company is about to throw some old machines into burner but I doubt it).

i think this kickstarter is as much visionary as usual topics on this site, like your usual "amiga" ng hardware proposals and initiatives, or considerations, how to make "amiga" a leading operating system. its also as realistic and will have likely as much effect as gathering the bounty for introducing new skins or "modzilla technology" to the platform. |

Possibly. If it's not, the cost is still 500 and the postcard will be signed by Tom, Dick and Harry instead _________________ The Rear Window blog

It was cheaper to attend the Amiga 30 EU in Amsterdam, and although I didn't get Petro to sign anything I did get Carl Sassenrath and Dave Haynie to sign the shell of my CD32. At the UK event I got David Pleasance's and RJ Mical's signatures on there too. |

I've read some pritty poor kickstarters, this one has to be up there. Basically sound like "give us 40,000 so I can buy every Amiga ever made.....ho and may look into seeing if I can remake them. Maybe" need to do better than that for a kickstarter. Besides a1200 remake sounds more more interesting. |
The Kickstarter you're referring to indeed seems ambitious but might not have fully convinced potential backers of its value beyond nostalgia and technical challenges, as suggested in the review focusing on an A1200 remake project instead for a more compelling pitch. |
