Hello All, I am trying to setup my PiStorm32 lite on my A1200 to connect to Wifi using
the Pi's wifi configuration. I am trying to run MiamiDX to do this. I noticed a number of
folks are using this software. However after I install the MiamiDX Software, which sets up ok. Then I try launch the it, I get an error that says "Unable to open MUI Module." I have added the 2 MUI modules to the install without issue, but the software can't seem to find them. Any help that I can get on this would be much appreciated.
Regards,
Brad Hansen

@Punkyclown

For some reason all the Amiga owners all wanted to run MiamiDX. And this goes back to the 90's. Most were just putting one Amiga on the net with dialup so didn't need all the advanced internet sharing options DX provided. But people like to have the best. I tried it out and it was more complicated so I went back to the simple one. As it didn't make sense to me to use a more complicated one because people thought it was the best.

Any way, if you have MUI 3.8 installed, that's all you should need. DX should install any extra MUI classes it needs. Another way of solving it, without using MUI is to use GadTools instead. Is there an option for this in the installer? The standard one supports it but I don't know if DX does. Given it's advanced it should support it.

Other options are AmiTCP/Genesis if you have OS3.9. There is some package on Aminet for enabling AmiTCP to use DHCP. Roadshow is recommended but lacks the GUI of both Miami and Genesis. So although you pay for it, you have to set it up in a primitive way, mostly by hand.

Indeed, unless you plan to use Amiga as router somehow, I also don’t see the point of using MiamiDx over regular Miami. Better yet, use Roadshow.

@Punkyclown

From http://de.aminet.net/aminet/comm/tcp/MiamiDx10cmain.readme

MiamiDX needs the following
1. MiamiDx10c-main.lha.

2. MiamiDx10c-MUI.lha, MUI user interface module for MiamiDx.

3. MUI 3.8 or higher.

I use MiamiDX with CaffeineOS (AmigaOS 3.9).

@Hypex

From how the issue was described, I would posit that MUI 3.8 or higher isn't actually installed only the MUI classes/modules it was looking for to launch MiamiDX.

That's how it would seem. But it is unusual for a MUI class to install without MUI. Usually a check for MUI assign would be made and if not a heap of requesters asking for MUI.

You need to download the specific .lha files and ensure you have at least version 3.8 of MUI installed on your AmigaOS-based system for compatibility with MiamiDx10c.
