@Fab

I can't prove the problem I see yet, but it seems if I start mui-owb first & then TW, TW crashes on startup & the system becomes unstable & will lock up after a few minutes. TW isn't your ploblem, but maybe the font cache is the cause, don't know. Just thought I'd mention the issue, might make some sense with your browser development on os4.

hmm if the donators accpeting this way of handling then it is ok (a kind of closed source model ). But it is not transparent and open and only lead to discussions (expecially regarding bigger and more complex bounties). So it would be better to change this in future (my personal view).

I don't think that the AmigaBounty organization is a closely held secret, and my descriptions hould be a reminder, not a first time said sort of thing.

If you made your own bounty/project site, how would you have things work? What aspects do you tink are different from what AmigaBounty does?

Please discuss in this other thread

You know, bitching and moaning pushes the devs forward, it's encouraging and helps to point out the flaws and bugs they have negligently forgot or failed to address.

Kas1e, is that you?

Ah, guess not .

imagine if 2 devs would cooperate, it could be a disaster! Better we have two competing ones and let them starve to near death

I actually laughed out loud at that. +1 (oh hang on, Google trademarked that didn't they?)

P.S. For anyone lacking a sense of humor: I am NOT criticising Kas1e.

With RC1 out we (the bounty team) decided that bounty requirements were met.

Money was transferred yesterday and at the same time bounty was closed.

I have to say that I am surprised to read this. I hadn't donated yet, as I was waiting for TW to become usable enough that it would functionally (if not in speed) replace MUI-OWB for me.

As of RC1 it seems damn close, as all the functionality is there now... but it's stability (and habit of freezing for long periods) is definitely not (for me). However it seems that others have different experiences, so I guess hard to known who you should listen to. Ho hum :-/

@thread

This is great news and compliments to the Friedens for all their tireless hard work and motivation for our community.

I am glad people are enjoying the plugins feature of Firefox - something new in the Amiga world.

Now can one imagine if ALL new Amiga programs had plugin facility like Firefox/TimberWolf !

One could enhance Amiga apps aslong as plugins are available !

What about scripting/communication plugins, small tools create building blocks for larger and larger apps to enhance capabilities.

Your paint program cannot do shapes - add the shapes/vector plugin.

Use communications plugin :

Paint a drawing and record its stages save as CommsDrawing1.

Another different app wants a drawing in its canvas it requests via communication plugin for CommsDrawing1, search finds saved file and info or data is sent to the app the drawing or its commands.

If CommsDrawing1 does not exist the communication plugin asks the Paint program to draw it then send data/image to the app that requested the job.

just some thoughts...

Timberwolf is not about the browser, it's about the technology ®
