@jahc

Oh... one small(?) request... how about adding an option to choose a state with option "Connect automatically on startup" ... like windows live messanger, epistula etc... Maybe it's allready possible but an option in the settings window would be really nice ...

@jahc

Hi there - the personal message worked nicely but it seems to have problems with some norwegian characters (ø æ and å). Would it be possible to fix this in a future version ?

best regards
Torgeir

@jahc

Thanks for this latest release. Great with personal messages.
Now i can see also other peoples messages as it should.
However i see one person that has a swedish char "ö" shows wrong.
But that you know already. When chatting swedish chars are ok.
Its only in the nicks window the problems are.

Its lovely to hear your next goal is filedirect. If you manage to make it
work my pc friends would be even more happier then me :) To send me
tunes they made haha.

EDIT:
Strange thing is my cousin is using an small "ö" in his nick and it shows ok.
His nick worked with previous versions too.

@hotrod

Something like that. I dont have a swedish character in my name
myself. Just when i watch other peoples nicks/personal messages.

For the option to connect automatically you should check the menu
for config. It has been there since ages ;)

@Jahc

I go nuts so i sent you a mail instead with pictures :)

@Kicko

Yes I know but what I want is the possibility to choose what status to use if automatically connected (online, busy, away etc...)...

EDIT: I agree, it wasn't that clear what I meant

Okay.. file transfers are pretty hard, so I'll go back to general coding.. and work on non-english characters.

Also I'll add a configurable initial status for when you connect automatically.

@Mrodfr

I'm not so good at looking at other peoples source code.. but I am getting some help from IRC and the MSN forum....

@thread

I'm making progress on the non-english characters. I'll get my tester to try it when I wake up tomorrow morning (Hi Kicko. hehe)

So right now I'm creating UTF8 strings with codesets.library when I rename users, and when I send personal messages.. I'm not sure where else I need to do it yet. I've messed around with the UTF8 to ASCII conversion a bit.. and I log out of MSN with the OUT command before I disconnect and reconnect, so the renamed changes are saved on the server.. Also when you change your own name, I've made it update your display at the bottom of the window too. And I've made it possible to rename users/yourself with spaces and misc other codes..

Still needs some fine tuning and testing.

Thats great you could found some help

For sure, you could imagine sabreMSN users who keeep silent in front of their amiga and pray.. yes, pray god ... for sending to you the good ideas, to see the day you arrive to make good download transfert with SabreMSN...

I think this day, lots of amiga users will propose you to get married with them (because they see your real picture on your site)...hum... at least send you some money for the download effort (if it arrive one day)......

Hum, yes, I'm verry happy and not serious at all , since 15 minuts because I have found why the internet connection make me crazy since 4 months !!!!! Damned, I'm happy

Hum, kicko, the best betatester ever.....

It's because of cool projects like SabreMSN that I've decided to keep my A1.

Small donation is on the way.

@thread

thanks for the donation, and the compliments guys :)

update: me and Kicko got the utf8 characters working well. just working on making sabre "see" renamed contacts display names,and *optionally* ignore the name changes.. it can be hard keeping track of who is who sometimes! it should be easy to finish tonight when Im home.

Personal messages are remembered and set on startup too now. and theres another few fixes and features people requested..

I started file transfers/display pictures using the new protocol, but so far the first invite message is seemingly ignored. I'm working on it though,but that wont come in the next release within the next few days..

@jahc

Your projects involving improving the SabreMSN are very impressive and exciting, i have to say. The GUI thing might be complicated. Not sure how to make it look even more impressive...

Could i suggest you include different language support for SabreMSN, too? If users in countries like Norway and Sweden are using their own language in AmigaOS 4.1, it should be possible to display SabreMSN in the same language, too? What do you say?

I'm sure you have many great plans. Keep up the good work.

Thank you for your suggestion! Incorporating multi-language support could indeed enhance user experience and accessibility of SabreMSN in different regions. It’s a valuable idea, and I will consider it for future development phases. Thanks again for the encouragement!
