@Samwel

because all modern players miss so many features that the old players have. it is a possibility though, and I have asked Bean to make a UADE plugin for TuneNet, and I have also asked for some crucial mod player feats... we'll see I guess.

I don't know what collection you got but how does PT2.3d and OctaMed suit your needs? At least they work allthough not the same as a player.

Olle had a go at the UADE plugin, but ran out of time. I'll see if I can finish
off what he started.

@hotrod

well, those are trackers not players, and my collection is .... huge :)
google for exotica and amiga and you'll find a very nice page with lots of cool exotic amiga mods, ripped from games. common formats are future composer, fred editor, tfmx, etc etc.. many of them have a unique cool sound.

ooh... cool! was that the 1.x or 2.x version?
uade 2.x needs libao, that i can send to you btw. 2.x should be easier to add a gui to.

I deleted all non-noteplayer replayers and deleted all genies except for the AHI genie.
This way Delitracker doesn't crash under AOS4 anymore, but it plays all tunes too fast.

Has anyone managed to use Delitracker successfully under AOS4?

It was new for me, that Delitracker is still exists on a platform that I do not want even mention.
www.delitracker.com is the home of the current release.
On the faq of that site clearly stating that they have no time to make any port or give permisssion to no one to make it.

What do you think about a well formed mail to the authors about an OS4 update, or just an AHI fix, or an Amiga source release?
I know they are not like to give out the current sources, but maybe the old Amiga sources will gain other criteria.

Bye!

FYI, there hasn't been any work done on DP2 for some time - it seems the authors are busy with other things. It's a shame because DP2 is a great music player, but it does have a few irritating bugs. Still it's my player of choice when I'm at work.

Any news on this?

I´m having a big mod, tfmx..etc collection too and its my favorite way to hear music.

Sadly Tunenet doesn´t reconize the songends and skips automatically to the next tune!

UADE is on os4depot.

You may wish to read that.

@Rogue

I suppose that ReadEClock() could be patched, if the task calling is Delitracker then return the expected value if not continue to the orgininal entry point.
I don't have an OS4 machine yet but this is a kind of hack that I used to do on plain 68k :)
I don't think that the little overhead is that critical but again I don't know if this function is used a lot by the system.

@Thematic

Thanks for the informations. But theres just one more question to clear the confusion:

UADE is a CLI-Tool to replay all Formats?

If yes is Delitracker installation required then?

And Apart from that will Delitracker run with timerhack and without uade?

Is there something like a "step to step" tutorial?

@fingus

UADE = PAULA EMULATOR (including 68k, CIA, HW registers, interrupts...)
Delitracker = Modules player, it is also be a SID emulator etc.
Delitracker is for classic Amiga, while UADE is a cross platform program. (there's also Delitracker for windows by the same authors but it's discountinued.)
UADE exist also on Morphos don't know if it has a GUI though.

Both are seperate product that don't need each other to work.

@SpotUp

I'm the author of Diamond Player, a MED and MOD player for OS4. What features is it missing, so I can try to add them (beside that it misses handling of many formats)? The player is not based on existing music module replayers, I've written replayers of my own, so they run very good even on A1200 PPC with AmigaOS 4.x Classic.

Diamond Player is still continued, it is available on OS4Depot, I've read some documents about Amiga music modules so I have some knowledge on this topic. I'm waiting an answer. Cheers!

@RNS-Amiga-Scientist

Please add support for tunenet plugins as we have loads of tunenet plugins.
Step two could be to make a tunenet plugin from uade. Then we are pretty much covered in the amiga mod playback area. :)
