I bought CubicIDE in 2005 and never regretted paying the price. It's simply a great, all-purpose editor. (Reminds me I wanted to order the replacement CD, just to support Dietmar's effort.)

Hi @Deniil715

Try DECH. It's a minimalistic EDE ("External Development Environment" - launches any external editor and compiler) that I have used for 10 years for all my development for OnyxSoft.
OK, that sounds interesting! Oops, tripped over your PP button while d/loading.

Hi @salass00

So why have you enabled the "Create Icons" setting in Notepad?

Because I'm not much brighter than the notepad!

Doesn't get much simpler than this if you are looking for a text editor.

@wegster

Yeah, I was expecting it to say "Hello World", but it all it prints is "You can't Speell!!"

Man Amiga Compilers are SMART!

EDIT:
Fixed spelling errors.

Hm, maybe he's trying to run it 'retro' mode in order to achieve some kind of backwards compatabillity?

I was going to mention this, but only now got to read the thread
I use Annotate as mini-IDE for LaTeX (it has LaTeX syntax parser).
I have polish the related AREXX scripts.
Anyway, great editor. Does editing very well

Cubic is also nice but not rock solid here on OS4.

And gvim is great too (I use it for Hebrew LaTeX texts).

With about ten mouse clicks, you can make Cubic just as simple. Or very complex. It's your choice. Even at the same time. For example, you can simultaneously have a simple Cubic for normal text files and a colorful and complex Cubic for C source codes. There is no bloat because the parts which are turned off are not loaded: All the stuff you see in the main window (lists of files, C manual, color coding, toolbars etc.) are plug-ins, usually in form of libraries. The editor assembles itself from these parts at run-time, as specified by the user's configuration. Here are two example configurations, complex and simple:

@all

Nice to see that TuiTED is in use out there.

That motivated me to release a new version: http://www.hd-rec.de/Archive/TuiTED.lha

Yes, TuiTED is pretty straight forward, originally this was intended to be a Demo for the TUI Texteditor Widget.

However, this is probably the last version of TuiTED ...
but there will be NTuiTED, the Demo of the NTUI Texteditor Widget, and NTUI is way more cool than TUI....

P.S.: You CAN compile the C source. There is a folder called "AREXX". You can write your own AREXX script to do with the current file whatever you want. I tested Amiblitz3 compiling, however, I decided to remove all Amiblitz3 support. The current Amiblitz3 IDE is more stuitable.

@Wanderer

Awsome!! Thanks for the update. 2.7 I guess it will be for a while

Will stay on the look out for NTUI too.

Not sure if this was about the response above, but I think they were talking about my spelling mistakes in the Hello World code

Anyway, this is great program. I use it for HTML and now C++ that I am learning. AREXX support to compile is just icing on the cake.

This is just an all around great NotePad replacement for the system. I think this program is a great example of how software 'should' be these days. No bloat, just a small great program that does everything you'd want in a Text Editor.

Found this the other day. Nice web page!

Link

edit: Sorry about the broken link. I have no idea why "." periods are replace by commas?

[Edit: Works best if you don't let the html/link parser parse it - _Steve_]

@ShInKurO

NoWinEd roxx :)
Thank you Shinkuro for your effort :)

Yes, the only I personally miss in NoWinEd is real TAB character support... and then syntax highlighting of course :)

We need an enhanced and fresh featured TextEditor.mcc ! :)

I did another update of TuiTED:

http://www.hd-rec.de/Archive/TuiTED.lha

There was a nasty enforcer hit I just discovered. Should be stable as a rock now!

Enjoy!

BTW, is can handle real TABs.

@saimo

Wow, FrexxEd seems to be great replacer for CygnusEd. It "tastes" just right like CEd plus many extra things CEd lacks.

Saimo, how did you do systax highlighting?
I copied CIdent.FPL and FMC.FPL into FrexxEd:Startup directory, but a loaded C source isn't recognized and FrexxEd does not colour it.
