@Mimifan

At first I thought it might just be a minor change renaming a Wiki page, but it isn't. A-EON has removed the term 'AmigaOne' everywhere from its website. Looks like something has happened behind the scenes, and not a particularly good thing.

@eliyahu

I guess this has to do with removing the "Amiga" part of the product...

3.1.4.1 does sound ridiculous. Surely 3.1.5 would sound less silly?

Improvements and fixes had been submitted to Hyperion recently. I think this particular was simply about getting those updates out to customers.

Someone should make a chronological compilation of all the silly versionings that Hyperion has used since 2004...

@eliyahu

Just when we thought it was safe to go back into the water.... sheesh.

Having been a next gen amigan since 2009, I must say when I thought things could not get even stranger.... now a name change or "something", I guess we need to wait for A-Eon to respond.

Maybe there is a reasonable answer but between lawsuits in the world of Amiga and product name changes so long in the life of the product, everything just seems to be getting odder for me personally to stick around for more of the madness.

I enjoy my X5000, I just always called it an AMiga X5000 myself, but man are things just going a tad coocoo these days.

Before that there should be a 3.1.4.1 Final Edition Pre-Release

Edit: Will the next update be 3.1.4.1.5?

That page has indeed removed all the "AmigaONE" stuff, as well as "AmigaOS" (that is now plain OS4.1). There is no mentioning of "Hyperion" in the left-side "Manufacturers" list. But in the "Extra Apps On Hard Drive" drop-down menu there is still an "AmigaOS 4.1" item (not just "OS 4.1"), and in the site-wide "Hardware" menu as well as the bred-crumb navigation there are still mentioning of "AmigaONE". Pictures of 3.1 KIckstart ROM modules has boing balls on them. Products with boing balls and rainbow checkmark logotypes are still listed under the "merchandise" category. If the purpose was to clean the website up from Hyperion "licensed" logotypes and marks, they obviously still has some work to do.

I'm thinking "work in progress" as well.
We saw such a work in progress recently with linkedin, as you will recall.

@klx300r

Not again, has this happened before? (I am new here)

@thread

So A-EON and Hyperion have a rift opening up between them. I assume it is related to the recent take-over of virtually all shares in Hyperion, which was a very nasty move.

Does this mean that we will see a more neutral approach to the other Amiga-like operating systems in the future from A-EON, like providing hardware more tailored for AROS and MorphOS?
