God of War 3 trailer:

Watch in HD if your PC can handle it.

Still no entry pricing price cut since November 2007 for the US. Expected later this year though.
> Nintedo outperforms Jan 08.
> MS slightly less in Jan 09 than Jan 08.
This despite hefty price cutting? (OK, so you were wrong. A slight increase for the US then)

Sorry, I was wrong, MS gained 25%.
Nintendo gained almost 60%... |

Yep, only Sony went down in actual # of units and percentage.

Are you talking to me or Lou?
Anyway Sony revealed the PSP has reached a new milestone, over 50 million PSPs have been sold to retail and over 200 million software units by the end of 2008,
So, it's by far the strongest competition Nintendo has seen for the handheld gaming market since the release of the original Gameboy! |

The mistake I made wasn't really a mistake. MS's market share went down slightly but the # of units sold went up. It's just that Nintendo sold so many more units that it's market share for the month stole from Sony's and MS's.
Sony lost out on both #'s. Atleast MS sold more units in Jan '09 than in Jan '08. |

| According to Nielsen research (US) data suggests:
The Wii is most popular amongst boys aging 6-11 years old and amongst females of all ages.
The 360 is most popular amongst 12-17 year old boys (may explain in part the behaviour seen on XBox Live).
And finally the PS3 userbase is dominated by men of 18 years and older (probably also due to higher entry pricing and strong non-gaming entertainment features, I guess with a cheaper slimline product the PS3 will start to compete more for teenagers as well). I fail to see what Crysis has to do with God of War 3.

Erm graphics?
Quote:
IMO Crysis looks good on a high specced PC,
|
Depending on resolution (e.g. 720p, 800p, 900p, 1050p), it runs fine on Radeon HD 4850 (sub-$150 USD) or Radeon HD 4670 (sub-$100 USD) based PC box ($399 USD). ToD HDR mod doesn't render any extra effects i.e. it only changes the existing HDR values.

but it's a pretty average shooter overall.
|
It's not much different to other non-RPG FPS, except it's not a "tunnel" FPS and primarily a KB/mouse controls (you can use Xbox 360 controller with Warhead).

It may not be "awesome" for some people i.e. not real enough.

And from that link, once again PS3 with *some people* claiming superior load times, while even on HD install: Quote:
As it is, the most noticeable difference between the two versions has nothing to do with the graphics and is all about the more mundane matter of loading times - eight-to-nine seconds per round on 360, double that on PS3. Thankfully the latter version has a ten-minute optional install weighing in at just 2GB, which brings it into the same ballpark loading time as the 360 version running from disc. |

For its part, NXE's 5.7GB install takes much the same time to complete but has little effect on in-game performance | I'm unclear on the first part of this sentence. Does this mean the Xbox's optional load is nearly 3x larger but it takes about the same time, 10 minutes? Last edited by BrianK on 21-Feb-2009 at 07:10 PM. I was pointing to G7X’s design issues striking again.
They could have used Logluv HDR method, but it has 5 to 7 cycle penalty which reduces pixel shader resource. Another design flaw is while performing texture operations stalls pixel shader/math operations.
