Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels Review
Quote:
This game is fun but very short. It was nice to play a Star Wars game that is not their typical third-person adventure style, but unless you are planning to play a lot of multiplayer with your friends or kids I’d just rent it. If you’re really into fighting games the lack of control depth and precision would be really frustrating, but for the average gamer they work just fine. |
Sounds a good yet short attempt to use the Wii for the obvious gaming application. Star Wars Force Unleashed got very bad reviews across the board!_________________ "Art challenges technology. Technology inspires the art." John Lasseter, Co-Founder of Pixar Animation Studios |

PS2 games on the PS3? A recent leaked memo from SEGA America indicated that Sony intends to offer the entire range of PS2 titles on the PS3. There will be a PS2 emulator. They way they are approaching this is to get them through the PSN store. There is no mention of PS2 DVD's being playable on the PS3.
The SEGA memo also mentioned Sony is trying for exclusivity for Dreamcast titles on the PSN network. Xbox Live has several Dreamcast titles to purchase currently.
So, if you wanted your PS2 games on a PS3 you can always buy them again. |

As if anyone is going to be that stupid! Download only games is a really bad idea - you can't swap/sell or lend your games and if your hard-drive goes you have to hope you can download them again free of charge! I'll stick to my PS2 thanks _________________ "Art challenges technology. Technology inspires the art." John Lasseter, Co-Founder of Pixar Animation Studios |

If you just believe reviews you're going to play only the games people want you to play.
I mean: both RedSteel and Force Unleashed got not so good reviews, but once you start play them you just can't stop until finished. The only defect in Force Unleashed is that it's too short (little bit more than 12 hours and it's gone) but you still have dual play deathmatch. Besides that, having tenths of force power at your disposal with motion controlled actions is very very satysfying.

Force Unleashed on PS3 was great IMO. I finished it quite some time ago. I liked it so much actually that I then bought it for Wii (which is a different version truly, written by another firm entirely). Of what I played of the Wii edition it is really fun as well. The story is almost identical, locations are very similar, controls are pretty fun as well. I got a kick out of finishing moves for some bigger fights having different animations that the PS3 version. Last edited by fairlanefastback on 29-Sep-2009 at 03:48 PM.

That's a huge game by HD-era gaming standards.
You see the art team spends so much time on higher detail that the total content(levels) of gameplay has gone down. Infact, didn't the Wii version have 2 extra levels?

12 hours are few in my opinion.
RE4 lasted more than 20 as did Doom3, FEAR and RedSteel.
Twilight Princess lasted something like 50-60 hours The Witcher: Im' playing since 25-30 hours and yet have to pass 3rd chapter.
And I'm not that inexperienced about finishing games, I just like to explore every single bit and watch everywhere.

Xbox Live has enabled free of charge game downloads. So if you buy electronic games a future break of a console of harddrive won't impact you. Of course the big problem is you can't 'resell' the games if you don't want to play them.
Which actually the model you describe being stupid is called PSPgo! |

Oh I know. My point was that it was a port of an 'HD' console game.
For all the quick party games, the Wii has plenty of 'real' games but BigD doesn't really wanna look at that. His PS2 is the king of shovelware but all he can look at are the 'good' games with some that have Wii ports. |

| Uncharted 2 scored a 10.0 at ComputerAndVideoGames (CVG): http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=224465
For the haters and Crysis fanboys: " Best-looking game ever"
Unexpected, but Uncharted 2 also got a 10/10 from Eurogamer (UK)!

BTW, an open multiplayer beta of Uncharted 2 is now available for download on the PSN!

| Perfect scores from GamePro and 1up as well, Uncharted 2 Among Thieves currently rating 98/100 at metacritic based on 17 reviews.

Here's another opinion: http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/29/review-uncharted-2-single-player/
Quote:
After a scorching first five or six hours, the game travels to the Himalayas and the action cools right along with the setting. The stunning set pieces of the first half are replaced by more conventional gun battles, and the engrossing character moments are supplanted by stilted, forced standoffs you've seen in every action movie.
Don't misunderstand, there are still some really enjoyable sequences in the second half of the game, but (save for one or two) they're all pedestrian by comparison to the first half. In fact, I don't think I would have had a single complaint, had I not just scaled the heights that Naughty Dog can achieve when bringing its A-game.
The experience is in no way spoiled, Uncharted 2 is still an absolute "must-buy" for even the most casual action fan. The plodding in the second half is enough to notch down the game from "genre re-defining milestone" to "insanely great action game," but honestly, how can you be disappointed by that?
... Okay, so it's a little disappointing. But just a little.
|
Ofcourse this sorta thing happens to alot of games. Even RE4 lost some narrative flare for the second half though that game was 24+ hours long. The HD-effect seems to hit this game as well as it's only ~10 hours long.
That has been my problem with the 'HD era' of gaming. Ofcourse I beat Ultima 4 and Final Fanstasy 7...almost twice. Regardless, World of Warcraft continues to occupy my time. |

The single player campaign takes about 15 hours, it can be done quicker like any speedrun, for example the hihgly aclaimed Half-Life 2 can be completed in well less than 2 hours (including the non-skippable cutscenes). Of course, there are a lot of hidden extras in this game which can keep you busy for much longer and of course there are many multi-player options in this game as well, which can keep you busy for as long as you want. |

Unsurprisingly, there is no one here he can attach those labels to. Last edited by fairlanefastback on 30-Sep-2009 at 02:19 PM.

Did not know that site contained malware... sorry for posting the link. Feel free to remove it if you find it could harm anybody's PC.
EDIT: Enabled back Avast's warnings on my PC. Now the antivirus tells me the very same thing, but also assures me the malware has been successfully blocked.
