@RoqueFort

One guy (who played Rumpole of the Bailey) was there for a few episodes.

In the UK they could stay in for a long time, as least you do have your 2 term limit

The only "term" these people have earned is a "prison term".
Let's all help to give them what they have truly earned.

I would have supported a third Reagan term.

Nitpick:
I believe that should be "termed" an "third Reagan administration term", as
the President himself was not really physically or mentally able to administer
the affairs of the nation at that time.
Technically, you could probably refer to it as "Nancy's first term".

Why do so many Americans prefer movie actors as politicians anyway (Reagan, Schwarzenegger, ...)? Somehow it goes in line with the election campaigns which are much more show-oriented than in Europe. Amazing how many millions are only spend on fireworks and lightshows...

I don't think they -do-.
Since the Nixon/Kennedy debates the media has elected its officials, -not- the
people. Costs of running for office have sky rocketed in conjunction with the
real costs involved in creating an "image".
We will never see a candidate again who runs on "issues".

imo William Henry Harrison did the least damage to the nation while in office.

'Real election' - do you mean an election without those electronic voting machines:

You're right assuming the voters like -- increased government funding for Fundamentalist Conservative Churches, continuing the unworkable trickle down economics, a stagnet economy where jobs created per month are just under # of college graduates per month, the largest US debt ever, the largest US debt to GDP ratio in 50 years, illegal wiretapping, reductions of government environmental protections, reduction of negotiating power and respect in the world for the USA, increased job outsourcing, attempts at undermining the UN, reduction in monies for 1st responders who'd take care of fellow citizens after another terrorist attack, the USA pro-war starting for the first time ever, the reduction and ignoring of science, and support cronyism.

I really despise politicians that claim what they're doing is to protect "our" way of life when they mean "their" way of life.

It's not so much what they do as to what they represent. Politicians live on another planet, Reagen & Schwarzenegger live(d) in the real World along with the rest of us. Call it desperation to elect someone who would work for us for a change, plus they're the only ones with the money to run.

What kind of snake?

A king cobra: spits at its foes and is extremely venomous?

or

A reticulated python: squeezes the life out of its prey, then eats it?

Just roll the 2 into 1, a hybrid, perfect.

I have a phobia for all snakes, even the garden variety.

I voted for him and if it weren't for the term limit I'd vote for him again. (Although mostly for his domestic policy and not Iraq.)
