I believe some contracts can survive a bankruptcy, especially if the contract has not been broken. There are different kinds of contracts and different kinds of bankruptcies which vary by local laws. Hyperion may lose the contract along with other assets.

That might be cheaper if A-EON wait until they're actually bankrupt.
Yes, much of the debt would likely disappear. Bankruptcy can be a good option when you are so far in debt that you could never dig your way out. The shareholders are the first to lose and they are in control until forced into bankruptcy (by not paying debts). If the debt is not so big, new investors and shareholders could be found which would likely dilute their shares but this is better than losing everything they have invested in the business even if they lose majority control of the business.

Since they've already bailed them out once we assume I'd expect their to be a clause regarding an automatic takover offer at an agreed price should it appear to be happening again.
That would be nice but if Trevor was business savvy then he probably would have acquired majority ownership the first time Hyperion had financial problems. I was really surprised he didn't. I can't help but think that he is a naive investor who did really well buying oil stocks in the stock market, not that there is anything wrong with that. I have dividends relying on the Gorgon project myself.
