Would it work to just make something like GNOME or KDE based on AROS? A desktop package with Amiga compatibility APIs to allow for some level of source compatibility (just use whatever endian the platform provides and recompile the software to fit).

It could consist of Workbench, Intuition and Amiga API packages. Perhaps a command line package too, with Amiga style commands and a shell. Any Linux user could just install the package for a (hopefully) lightweight Amiga like desktop and environment that goes a bit deeper than just the skin.

It would be something I could use on my daily computer, as I need to have access to all UNIX software...
