| AEROS distribution for Raspberry Pi has been released today. AEROS is a hybrid OS based of AROS which is an opensource rewrite of commodore Amiga Operating System and linux. For a small fee you can unleash also i386 compatibility on ARM boards which allows to run Teamviewer , Spotify and Skype.
indieGO Appstore has been updated Amicloud as well Transcendence Wallet works beautifully on my Pi3 without portforwarding I got 7 connections to the network.
i have saved the fully synched Blockdata on the image (as of today) ,so synching is way faster.
Check the AEROS subpage on www.teloscoin.org/aeros for the free download and a short guide
Changelog for AEROS 4.3 - updated firmware supporting the latest Rapbery pi 3+ as well - disabled ssh by default (check pdf guide on download page regarding default password and change it) - updated amicloud - updated AppStore - updated Linux kernel Several small fixes improving speed and stability Some included apps are i386 and require activation exagear desktop which is available for a small fee. Just ask : )
Grab the fastest way to run a telos staking node from www.teloscoin.org/aeros
It boots in under 2 seconds with a fast card (pi3)
Due to the fact the plus version is now free, everyone who donated or bought an sd card can recest 1000 telos.
The currency whe started is not energy or power demanding so it will work also on low cost systems. Instead mining (pow) it is a staking coin so all you need to do is to keep telos in your wallet to get some rewards over time. Each telos can be seen as lottery ticket. If you have more, than you get more chances to win additional telos every minute.
The idea is to provide you passive income in order to provide a small market for developers.
It money was the problem .. it can be over now when you take the one time opportunity to join a „young“ but expanding project.
Making AEROS the main os and most easiest entry to telos staking allows us to combine AROS development (normally not interesting for mankind) with the interest of a way larger community of investors and blockchain users.
Unlike Amigacoin, telos is mainly target as general payment coin and is supported by many external projects. Actually if you sort by number of nodes we are in top 3 on masternodes.online . Tendency goes up.
Telos can be exchanges against BTC/ETH/LTC And more important directly against: PLN / EUR / USD / GBP / TRY
this enables developers earning telos to exchange to FIAT money
Currently we work on swapping between telos and indiecoin, so you can buy stuff directly in indieGO AppStore and or buy amicloud storage.
In around 14 days a auction platform will be launched accepting telos for protected payments.
I don’t ask to use it : ) I am just offering it because it is good , will work and you can take a piece of the cake to fund amiga related projects passively ... woot woot. Last edited by phoenixkonsole on 19-Jan-2019 at 08:12 AM.

| Pull out my original RPi with 512MB Ram, installed a TP link wireless dongle, connected my ethernet, burned a 32GB SD SanDisk Extreme and gave it a go. First of all, I think the installation document has an error regarding the SD size, which should be at least 32GB and not 4GB as stated on the online readme. Anyhow, after initial boot I oc @ 800Mhz and stretched the system to take advantage of the full SD size, rebooted and configured the wireless (got handed an IP), tested AHI over HDMI and worked perfectly.
To my understanding, the original RPi support should be either dropped or it should be clearly stated that minimum requirements are at least a RPi 2 B+ given that performance was ultra sluggish (windows refreshing very-very slow, pointer flashing/disappearing/moving with lag), boot sequence needs about 1 min to be fully completed, OWB took nearly 5 mins to load, after loading I couln't get to the internet and whatever url I typed I got an "error" with no further explanation, Chromium handed an openbox error, taking a grab by fn+printsc key combo resulted in an openbox/gnome error as well, time was about 2 hours behind so I assume that the system isn't retrieving it from the net (?) or I wasn't trully connected via ethernet and wireless (?), just by opening/closing fast the system drawer got a wandered error and needed a reboot. Overall the system wasn't anywhere near the recent videos which can be seen in yt.
TBH I am thinking of purchasing a RPi 3 B+ just for AEROS but I don't have the time to invest much in experimentation, so I would like first to see a full blown presentation on yt of latest AEROS on latest RPi so as to check if it fast enough or not. _________________

Tried to update using the up2date feature but it failed. All seem to update ok but on reboot, just end up with a grey screen. Ubuntu can be accessed using the right mouse button but no desktop.
Cheers

Any plans to get this running on the Raspberry Pi 4?
Cheers

| I like it too. It is for sure the only complete option to have a modern Amiga like system. I have to try it out for Pi 3 pretty soon.
What AROS software do you have for it?
It is also a nice bridge between the native AROS pi version that is in my opinion the most exiting Amiga like native system project. I guess that software compiled for AEROS would also work native on AROS pi.

Actually, software for AEROS might not work without recompilation for the new AROS RPi native as, IIRC, AROS hosted for ARM (which is what AEROS is based on) is little-endian whereas the new native AROS for Pi is big- endian to allow more direct 69k emulation/integration.

| @ntromans as soon I finished my tax declaration i will update it.. I think there would be no problem to have an big-endian hosted version if it is used with a big endian linux.. which is meh.. as most if not all distributions for ARM are little endian. | Is this project still active? I find the proposition interesting. Running AROS while at the same time having access to Linux apps. All on fast and cheap hardware. Has the potential to become a daily driver in a way that OS4 and MOS won't. |

I’d quite like to see my Raspberry Pi 4 get some Aeros action. _________________ Amigaone X5000/20 4GB Radeon RX 550 Polaris 12 AmigaOS4.1 Final Edition Update 1 Amiga 1200 Workbench 3.1.4 Amiga CD32 |

HI guys! I am sorry for the "silence". Lately my life is like having 48hour days and its like getting requests from 3000 people a day.. Waaahhhhh...
About AEROS .. yep an update is in the works which covers also the Pi4. If nothing goes in-between we could see a release in the next week.
Please: In case you find offering asking for money: Ditch it.. the release will be free. No need to pay or something. If you pay I will be enforced to do book keeping and i hate this kind of things..
I will need to find time to rework websites in the future and remove the payment things..
