So the people behind the C64 Mini, have teasted what looks to be an Amiga Mini
( https://www.facebook.com/THEC64andMoreByRetroGamesLtd/posts/2425340997771127 )

So will you get one and what games / features / things would you like to see?

so I may end up getting one if the price is right. I would like to see mouse replica of the original Amiga, and maybe focus on the great mouse based games Amiga had and maybe they could get Deluxe paint or Ppaint included to show off Amiga wasn't just a gaming machine.

Maybe they should make three versions of the Amiga Mini,

Amiga Mini Mouse Version with 12 Games :- Games I would include (focus on the more mouse based games)

Lemmings 1 & 2, Cannon Fodder 1 & 2, Beneath a steel sky, The Settlers, Sim City, UFO: Enemy Unknown, Jimmy White's 'Whirlwind' Snooker, Worms, Civilization, Railroad Tycoon & Workbench + Ppaint to play with

Amiga Mini Joystick Version 16 games :- Games I would include (joystick focus)

Zool 1 & 2, Batman, Rainbow Islands, Elite, Wizkid, Sensible Soccer, Another World, James Pond 1 & 2, Speedball 2, Turrican 1,2,3, Alien Breed, Superfrog.

Amiga Mni Mouse + Joystick Pro model all the above and

Monkey Island 1 & 2 (if they could get the licences) so that would be 30 games.

So what are your thoughts?

@amigang

Legal issues aside, I hope this will not end like the previous Amiga Mini (CommodoreUSA).

@amigang Absolute cool games. Maybe I add Populous II, Powermonger, Wings, It came from the Desert II, Shuffle Puck Cafe, North and South, Histroy Line, Swiv, Railroad Tyycoon, Xenon II, Apydia, Rainbow Island, Bubble Bobble, Battle Isle, Hanse, Defender of the Crown, Micropose Soccer and many more ;)

The question is,..do we need the Amiga Mini? There are several Boards which can do the job and even better. AGA, other machines. And there are already cool cases like the mini A-3000. You have Emulators which are quite comfortable.

@LarsB

Your quite right we the community dont really need it, as I also know of nearly a dozen options to have a small mini Amiga system. Armiga, Retro pi Amiga, minimig etc, etc.

But the average joe out side of this community and not really in the computer world, are a. likely doesn't know about these options, b. wouldn't want the hassle of setting up said system, and c. like the fact that its a should be easy to use, all set up system and just a bit retro for them self or there kids to play with. oh and d. it will come in a nice shiny box and so call proper retailers my stock and even have it on their shelf (if store are around in 2021).

@LarsB

Very obviously this isn't targeting the usual community nut jobs.
Its an affordable machine for the gaming masses who couldn't care less about what is available at the moment.
Will probably outsell all currently available options combined dozens of times over.

@fishy_fis OK, bringing it back to mainsteam would be a good goal. But when doing a emulator board, I would prefer AGA emulation and I would like to use standard GFX and Soundformats like WinUAE.

@fishy_fis

Those kind of sales would be nice. iPhone 12 outsold the entire sales history of Amiga users in one weekend.

@NutsAboutAmiga Right ;) But the other Minis have been sold quite well. And so the userbase would enlarge. Thus there are more people which are potentially interested in some small Hollywood Games or stuff written in C and SDL which both are on my list. ;)

@amigang

I'm taking a wait & see approach. Even though I have a proper Amiga Maxi, I still might get an Amiga Mini if the product was compelling enough and favourably priced. MIght even get two and gift one of them.

I like the idea of different versions but I doubt we'll get that. Likely it will be packed with joystick driven games, and I'm fine with that. Plenty of options.

I would like to see a space shooter like Galaga, and perhaps and action adventure like Flashback. 3D puzzler like Spindizzy Worlds. Maybe some interesting 2-player games like Silkworm and Twintris.

I remain highly skeptical but as always, would love to be proved wrong.

If you look at the C64 Mini/Maxi then this is probably what you will get.

Basically some kind of ARM board stuffed in a reproduction shell running UAE which will be perfectly fine for some casual users but for me it just won't cut it.

I'll stick with my FPGA Amiga thanks

@amigang

I should have said maybe.
The full size machine is preferable.

If it isn't Vampire level of specs and ports then what's the point.

An FPGA for chipset emulation only and ARM JIT would outperform a Vampire. If it's just UAE then no thanks.

@Samurai_Crow

Make up your mind, do you want chipset in fpga or do you want emulation? :)

I'm more amused by amiga mini threads on eab, amiganews, atariage, here....etc......
all based solely on a facebook hint.
