In case this helps answer your question. From the corporate page:

Evert Carton

Sales Manager and Commercial Relations

Timothy De Groote

US liaison

James Sellman

Has anyone met these guys? I haven't heard of any of them involved in OS4 projects.

Well one of them i talk to quite alot and he worked on every Hyperion thing since day 1 , every support email he answered and so on..
So to that question i would say yes.

When you talk to them are you stalking/trolling them or are you actually involved in some serious business dealings?

I have met with the Friedens, Ben, Evert and Timothy personally in the past year or so.
Never heard of James Sellman though.

Did they want to hire you as their house audio guy?

Would asking Hyperion to give away the classic amiga PPC version of OS4 for free to try out be considered a reasonable request?

No. Of course it wouldn't be considered a reasonable request. Even paying for a Classic PPC version is not considered.

Read more here.

The main "reasons" were that it's not worth the effort for the few BPPC and CSPPC users and that they don't have any resources to do the support.
I wonder who will do OS4-support for the PV or Amy-versions of OS4 then.

Heh! ok. And I -do- understand why people would be interested in something concerning
"new" hardware. But...
I really think the key point from the log, that also would serve to dispel the
myths of Hyperion's demise as a result of not having OS4 on the market presently,
was the following thought (paraphrased):
The Smith's Aerospace deal secured Hyperion's future. It more than made up for
any loss of income from the lack of OS4 sales.

See my last post please. I doubt "obvivion" is on the "possibility list" based
on what was discussed in irc.

Was this explicit said or is it a guestimate from little hints and such?

Four consecutive posts in irc with no editing:

Quote:
Jun 25 08:22:31 AMiGR since the economic facts show that no OS4 can be sold ATM
Jun 25 08:22:36 AMiGR since there is no hardware it supports
Jun 25 08:22:53 GreenDay Trust me, the Smiths deal alone more than made up for that.
Jun 25 08:23:02 GreenDay There would be no development of OS 4 otherwise.

There was more discussed concerning the potential magnitude of that deal, but
you get the point.

@Desler

I prefer to have the author who changed his nick twice during the irc session,
answer that question. (strictly protocol, since he did not specifically state
who he was in irc and anything I say would be deemed subjective).

It should not be a secret. Everybody knew it was Ben Hermans.

Ben told that he changed his nick whenever he changed the CD he was listening to

Smith paid virtually nothing, whats Benji (if that really was Benji) smoking these days implying they made a huge amount of money on this deal. In addition, OS4 on any hardware requires a license from AI according to one of the the non-twins, does Benji not think PS3 is hardware or does he think he no longer needs a license from AI?

He actually wrote "In addition" the very sentence before. Meaning a comment
for my earlier post about Ben thinking they didn't need a licence for PS3.

@Tigger

To my understanding Ben H meant that Sony won't require a licence. I don't think he
was talking about Amiga Inc. For all we know Amiga Inc may already have granted
Hyperion a PS3 licence.

Indeed. Just curious why someone would post a question to -me- based on a subject
that was being discussed by -you-. ???

*sigh* Time to come out of hiding for a minute.
Hyperion doesn't have anything to do with the SDL port. It's maintained mostly by Richard Drummond nowadays, although Hans-Jörg and me were involved too.

So, no, Hyperion will NOT release any SDL related updates.

And no, I don't, either, simply because I'm not involved in SDL anymore. The most recetn version of MiniGL is in the SDK, there's been to the best of my knowledge no changes to it since then.

*sigh* i am truely sorry for believing something as stupid as the 3d stuff bugging out being due the minigl library. sorry for draging you out in the public. i won't do it again.
c'mon man, cheer up, it's not like i was dissin' you or anything, i don't desere such an sarcastic reply.
