What problem do you mean actually?

@EntilZha

Wasn't even more recent binary released with Q3?

@Mr_Capehill

No, it was the same one as in the latest SDK. It was simply there for those that didn't have the SDK installed.

@spotUP

There have been a misunderstanding by EntilZha - what we were referring to was only to new versions of MiniGL and/or the Radeon drivers which have problems when used with SDL OpenGL programs. As it seems, no new work has been (and will be) done on MiniGL, so we'll have to wait for MESA.

Smith paid virtually nothing, whats Benji (if that really was Benji) smoking these days implying they made a huge amount of money on this deal. In addition, OS4 on any hardware requires a license from AI according to one of the the non-twins, does Benji not think PS3 is hardware or does he think he no longer needs a license from AI?

Come on man, everyone knows Benji's going to pay for the Amiga license out of his pocket if he's hedging all his bets for OS4 on the PS3.

Sorry to bother you but it's fair enough seeing as there is no one source of FAQs regarding OS4.

You are aware that Hyperion is working with a very tight budget ?

Problem is, people always say "sarcastic" when they didn't hear what they wanted to...
(or "this is no way to treat a customer").

Sorry, I'll simply shut up.

*sigh* i am truely sorry for believing something as stupid as the 3d stuff bugging out being due the minigl library

Ok, slowly:

1. Regarding SDL: SDL is not maintained by Hyperion, as such, a "reasonable request" to Hyperion to release SDL is not reasonable at all.

2. Regarding MiniGL: The latest version of MiniGL is available in the SDK.

So, can you please tell me where the frell I am sarcastic ? Sorry, just because you don't _LIKE_ what I answer doesn't mean it's sarcastic. That sort of commentary is exactly the reason why I stay away from sites like this.

Yes, I can imagine that Hyperion is on a tight budget after spending 500.000 EUR on OS4-development without getting any resonable return.

@EntilZha

Thanks for taking the time to answer questions here, but I also have trouble with using the 3D hardware on my 9200 gfxcard, not using SDL at all.

MiniGL hangs the system completely every second time I start it and W3D hangs a lot less but still from time to time.

Is this a bug in my programs (I have read other people with similar problems as mine in this forum, so I think its not only my programs that make this happend) or in the driver for my gfxcard? If it is the driver is there a new one in betatest or is it even work done on that?

@Menthos

If you put demos online, other people with different HW could check it out. In that way, some driver problems may be found, or bugs in your code.

There are fixed drivers for Radeon 7000 (is that rv100 chip?) but for betatesters only.

@Enthilza

let's cut the angry/tired/whatever undertone and just talk and try to get to the bottom of the problem, instead, there's no reason to fight ok? :)
try this beta release of xmoto. try it with INTERRUPT enabled and disabled. when they are enabled all polygons flicker a lot.

http://www.uprough.net/releases/archives/xmoto_beta1.lha

to me this seems more like a radeon driver bug, but maybe it isn't, i guess it could just as well be an SDL bug. I have written Evil Rich about it aswell.
Check out this thread for more details on the xmoto/sdl/minigl/whatever it is bugs;

http://amigaworld.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=19200&forum=32#298471

And, maybe we do have to wait for Mesa to get rid of these bugs, but in theory it should work via minigl right?

@Tigger

I take it you have access to Hyperions accounts to know Smiths paid virtually nothing.

A simple pic of the purchase order would help settle the argument. Unless of course you made it all up.

Your xmoto binary works fine here on a Voodoo 4. It's unlikely to be a problem with SDL.

Cheers,
