@CodeSmith

not 3 but 4 memory chips, notice the same numbers 6 and 4 above the T and i as on the other chips?

The GPU is the whole square underneath. On your close up we can even see how the RAM was "glued" on top of it.

@DJBase

10 years? Samantha took only few months.

This board will beat A1G3SE... faster HD, faster Ram, no Articia...

About GFX

It ha s Mobility Radeon 9000 with 64MB. Much more powerfull than MicroA1's Radeon 7000 32Mb

@Kromjuice

Well, if its an 400EP/EPx it will have an FPU, the 440GR/GRx not.

Yeah, sorry for the blurry pics, but check out safir.amigaos.se in a few minutes for more/better pics and full specs of Samantha..

Are you sure? Does the SoC on it have L2 cache? If yes, which amount? (I'm too lazy to Google for info now. )

@DJBase

440EPx is most likely for its USB 2.0 controller and FPU

Edit: well i got the radeon mobility 9000 correct, i must be doing something right

@TheMaskedMuchacho

If it's this chip then that's great news. It should comfortabley beat an equivalent G3 (or even faster clocked G3) for many operations because of it's much faster memory bus.

@Kromjuice

I hope so, lack of L2 cache shouldnt make it too slow with an intergrated memory controller and low latancy ram.

here is a tip for anybody with an athlon64. if your motherboard allows it set it to run at 800mhz by lowering the multiplier and run a few benchmarks, then turn off L2 cache and run them again. still pretty fast isnt it

an intergrated memory controller and fast ddr memory help make up for the lack of L2 cache at such low speeds.

If this thing runs OS4 and is priced right, then i will seriousely consider getting one myself.

According to: http://safir.amigaos.se/main.php?d=newsfull&news=400&npage=10
the specs are the following: ddr ram with 512mB already fitted onboard, radeon mobility gfx, 1pci, usb 2.0, 2x 100mbit lan, 2x itc ports, 4 com ports, dvi and SPI interface.

They are also currently in middle of negotiations with Amiga inc regarding license.

@DJBase

isnt the EP 533mhz max?

AMCC cant make their mind up, they say 333-533mhz in one place and 333-667mhz in another.

AMCC 440EP

if it is a 440EP @ 667mhz then its all ok

@TheMaskedMuchacho

No, up to 667 MHz but the memory controller has nearly the same spec as Articia (133 MHz, 1.1 GB/s).
