| Peter Gordon released his precious FTP client! Catch it at http://os4depot.net/?function=showfile&file=network/ftp/pftp.lha !
Some features already present in PFTP:
* Fully multithreaded design * FTP to FTP transfers * Multiple windows (for local and FTP connections) * Browsing while downloading * Drag and drop * Reaction GUI * Pause and resume transfers * Resume files that are already present at the target * Transferring of whole directories with contents * Deletion of directories with all contents * Passive and active transfers supported * Optional automatic binary/ascii mode setting * AISS toolbars
Nice ! |

Second native FTP client in a week?
Edit: I got "Unable to create ReAction object" when I added Aminet and tried to connect to it. Does it require something special? Last edited by Deniil715 on 25-Sep-2007 at 09:07 PM.

You forgot to copy the images directory from the extracted archive!
What I wonder is why, if I click on pftp.info I get told "object is not required type" ? Not that it matters.

| @NoelFuller No I did. I created a drawer and put the image drawer in there with the images and the program.

I don't have AISS installed because I prefer to have the images associated with a program located in the program directory. When I started pFTP it through up a requester asking me to insert volume TBImages: and there is no way to exit the program. No matter how many times I cancel the requester it comes right back. I had to reboot to get rid of it. Could we please have the option to use a set of images in the program directory if we don't like AISS; or at least the option to just use text gadgets if images are unavailable. I'll check out the next release to see if it suits me better.

The point of AISS is to provide a uniform set of images for all (new) Amiga software.
You can choose not to install it, but newer os4 apps are starting to take advantage of it. I'd view it as being an OS component.
P.S. next time you have an assign that wont go away, just assign that path to ram: or something.

| @Mrodfr I think we have enough ftp clients for classic amigas. I hope pftp will be OS4 only, thanks.
@Peter Gordon Thank you very much for this great programme.

If your directory is laid out like this:
pftp Images/tfer_paused.png Images/tfer_active.png Images/tfer_queued.png
It should find them. I don't know why it wouldn't. _________________ Playstation Network ID: xeron6 |

AISS is listed as a requirement (not an option) everywhere I put pftp for download.
I can't draw to save my life, and I didn't want to just copy someone elses work and include it (although I have to admit, the tfer_#?.png files are resized AISS images, i hope mason doesn't mind). _________________ Playstation Network ID: xeron6 |

Currently there are no plans for an OS3 port of PFTP. The source is very OS4 centric:
* It uses Mutexes instead of Semaphors * It uses AllocSysObjectTags() for all system structures * It explicitly uses interface pointers (and even stores some in subtask context structures so they have seperate library instances). * It uses SocketBaseTags() stuff, which is buggy in some OS3.x TCP/IP stacks, but fine in RoadShow
There are some others, too. _________________ Playstation Network ID: xeron6 |

no problems. just in case PFTP need only acompilation time to be AOS3 but as you said, PFTP is AOS4 coded only.
hope one day AOS4 will be available (software and hardware for all) and this kind of question will stop.
thanks for coding for the amiga.

| @xeron Yes that is the way it is laid out. Mystery to me too.
John Paul
Images/tfer_paused.png 443 Images/tfer_active.png 481 Images/tfer_queued.png 486
If I double click on one of the png files I get unknown datatype. I have 52.1 png datatype in the datatypes drawer.
Oh and yes I have the latest AISS installed.

Can you list all datatypes you have in Devs:Datatypes ? IIRC there was a version of a 3rd party datatype that was causing problem with other installed datatypes (*may be SVG ?) _________________ AOS 4.1 : I dream it, Hyperion did it !
