My 1st question...

@afxgroup

does the statement "This is the last MPlayer version" mean that this is the last version of Mplayer we shall see? If not, I suggest using the word "latest".

@number6

Taking into consideration the fact that the April version also said "last version," I would take it to mean "latest version."

@afxgroup

Seems to be 3 mplayer copies in the archive.

Altivec (dir) 8.4MB
GenericPPC (dir) 8.3MB
mplayer (file) 8.3MB

Are you punishing number6 for some reason?

@number6

The OSD is still flickering for me, other than that the altivec version seem to do fine on the small tests i did.

Streaming seems to be broken on this new version. On my system it starts the video and about 3 seconds into it the video just freezes and Mplayer can't be closed or anything. Anybody else have this problem?

@ktadd

I can't test that one on dialup.
But can you confirm that parameter "-vf screenshot" (and pressing "s" during playback) is now defaulting to saving to ram: instead of progdir?

Oh...and folks, due to differences in the GUI versions, let's try to test as much as possible just running MPlayer in shell.

@thread

Anyone with OS4.0 confirm DSI on "esc" or at end of playback of any file?

@number6

yes, i was mean "latest".. regards the DSI on OS4.0.. well i cannot test it anymore..
the version present in the root dir should be the same of the GenericPPC version and the altivec is in its dir.. i could create a sym link for the root one.. but i'm lazy..
i'll try to check the streaming problem but since i haven't touch anything in the streaming code it is possible that is an mplayer problem..

understood.

But if someone can confirm the default directory for saving screenshots is RAM: now, instead of progdir, that would be helpful.
1.5 meg of ram used per shot saved in .png format is not unusual, and that could add up in a hurry for machines with little memory to begin with.

I havent tried this version yet, but I know the previous version also saved screenshots to RAM:

Maybe a tootype? I prefer it in RAM myself.

Was that the interim test version mentioned on Amigans.net? If so, I had not tried that one.
Prior to that, I would merely change "path to mplayer" (when used with the GUI) and every save of .png I ever performed ended up in progdir.

@afxgroup

First, let me thank you sincerely for fixing screenshot. It does work fine again.
It's your choice, of course, whether to change this. I'm just concerned about anyone taking a lot of snapshots and having ram chewed up.
Frankly, unlike Racer, I do a lot of snapshots and put them together with text in turboprint.

This latest MPlayer doesn't work here. It uses 100% of CPU but no picture and no sound.

Has Daniel mentioned anything about having to change the GUI for this version?

Is it possible the SE is behaving differently than the XE and Micro with this version? Have you gotten different results than XE/Micro users in prior Mplayer threads?

@number6

or maybe wrong settings in Mplayer GUI!

@afxgroup

Nice work! This runs great here. I'm watching youtube really nicely now. Very smooth, and the synchronisation appears perfect on all but one of my flv videos.. I'm watching animated amiga tribute by eric schwartz perfectly. Also the fastforward/rewind cursor left/right shortcuts work good now. Running on my Sam440ep 667 btw.

Thanks again!
