I now have OS4 set-up so that I can double-click on WHDLoad patched or JOTD JST patched games, it will start UAE, and then run the game I double-clicked on *inside* UAE! (Or if UAE is already running, then it will bring UAE to the front & launch the game directly!)
This was thanks to UAELoad, but I had to modify it quite heavily (it was only designed to work with iGame not directly from icons). I've sent the author my changes, and hopefully he likes them! |
Now that's what the doctor ordered to play Amber Moon
@klx300r Leave that version alone! With the other (older) one try a 320x200@100hz if your monitor supports this res (full screen), note that results talked here are about OCS games, AGA might be different (never tryed anything). With the above settings I've been able to play comfortably with the likes of Alien Breed, Ruff'n'Tumble, Chuck Rock, Turrican 2 and more.
As a final note I can never stress enough how the Software is important too, I am playing heavy Neo-Geo games at 60FPS using gNgeo, many of these do not play as well in NeoMame (and the HW is just the same!).

Any chance of a guide on how you did this? I'm sure a lot of us would love to do it too!

| @danwood Just to let you know, it is progressing very well! I've finished writing & testing it, and am now awaiting reports from two beta testers... _________________ Author of the PortablE programming language. It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue... |

| Would be interesting to use the Sam FPGA for certain tasks. Maybe some blitter functions can be emulated.

I think the FPGA can not access RAM nor video RAM, so I doubt it is usefull in that. (let's start with something easier first with the FPGA, shall we.)
But a GPU could do a lot of Amiga HW emulating, but to do it in OCS...AGA legacy compatible way seems very far fetched. If HW acceleration is desired, then a fast FPGA (minimig and Natami capable) on the PCI slot or on the 80pin FPGA extender. Last edited by KimmoK on 22-Dec-2009 at 08:17 PM.
