I don't want to cause more confusion but what has Extreme Engineering Solutions got to do with anything?

someone decided to pick a random company off the net that they thought would be manufacturing the x1000, and it seems some people have let the silliness spread

I'm not sure where you are getting the 13 years from... the link you provided is from January of 2003... 7 years ago.

If you go to there "About" page is where I was getting my original time. The compnay formed in 2002 or around 7 and 1/2 years ago.

@HyperionMP

Could explain the 15 years of never failing to deliver statement??

What HyperionMP told you was that the company who engineers the X1000 has 15 years of experience in hardware engineering, never failing to deliver a product. Then some people come up with wild speculations about some company called "Extreme Engineering Solutions", which was founded in 2002. I think you've already figured it out, that those speculations about this 'Extreme Engineering Solutions" making the X1000 are incorrect, so what else needs explaining?

I think the problem is that you've already decided in your mind that the X1000 is just vapourware and doesn't exist, even though a number of OS4 developers have stated in the forums that they have the hardware and are in the process of porting OS4 to it, as well as a number of other people involved in the project (such as Trevor) confirming this. So somehow you have decided that all these people (who are well known in the Amiga scene and have all delivered in the past) are just lying. That is not the kind of treatment I would give to people who have been keeping the Amiga alive, investing large amounts of time and money, taking huge risks in the process.

Also, creating a thread with the title "X1000 is vaporware" is going to have the effect that those who have heard of the X1000 and become interested in it and the Amiga, may pay a visit to AmigaWorld.net and see that title, and they'd probably just leave it at that and decide that it's probably not going to happen. So what you're only causing more damage to a platform which has suffered enough damage in the past in my opinion. In any case I doubt that you had any good intentions when creating this thread, if you were concerned about the X1000 being vaporware, you could have created a thread with the title "Is the X1000 vaporware?".

The acid test will be if XMOS start to port their dev tools to PPC architecture or even better OS4.

We'd need a proper LLVM target and Sun JVM port first.

How about who is making the x1000 or what CPU it is using?

Failing that tell us WHY we cannot be told then. NDA? What?

Ok, it's not XES then.

I think they had the best competence on PPC Titan core / next generation.

Is the designer/manufacturer some bigger or smaller company then?
And the x1000's PPC has Titan cores, right?

Other than that, I think this thread ought to be locked.

@AmigaHeretic

What annoys me most is that you still keep up your attitude and never answer some of the concerns other people here have posted about you spreading FUD.

Sure you can be sceptical and are entitled to have doubts about X1000 but people like COBRA here have valid doubts about your intentions and you choose to ignore this. So if you can doubt AEON so can other people doubt you. At least some of the people involved in the X1000 projects tried answering your questions.

Should a thread "AmigaHeretic is Vaporware" be opened to get you to answer for your actions?

I guess "AmigaHeretic is a bother" would be a more appropriate title.

@DAX

And just as usual you didn't bother reading before replying (hint: ChrisH posting nonsense).......... I did don't give a rats behind why OS4 was delayed, some might be written down do to signing ####ty contracts with even ####tier partners but the core is quite simple: The amount of work needed was grossly underestimated, for which reasons is anybodies guess (how was that about not implying malice while incompetence can't be ruled out).

@HyperionMP

Well you did have the 3.1 sources, and you never did leave a paper-trail about asking AInc about them, so they couldn't be that important.

Bout the 3.5/9 parts, are you seriously implying you were suprised that AInc couldn't deliever them and that H&P were unwilling to hand them out ? Yeah I allready quoted that stuff about malice&incompetence, but given what was public knowledge in fall 2001 that idea becomes rather hard to swallow.

What I really don't understand is, if that was such a problem, why didn't you act in 2002 ? You know putting some pressure on AInc to either deliever or agree on differnt terms on the OS4-contract ......

How exactly? Am I suppose to ASSume that it is an NDA? Do the have a 2nd NDA that says they can't comment about the NDA they have?

This is lame Hyperion, A-EON. whoever you guys are....

Nice, Amigaland takes it in the b*** over and over. A-EON claim to have a magic motherboard, but hey, we don't have full pictures, we don't have full specs, we won't tell you even how, who, or what is manufacturing it, but TRUST US.

God forbid someone has some questions and tries to EXTRACT straight answers out those making outrageous claims.

Even is this stuff was UBER secret and they are under NDA and the CPU manufactures would hunt them down if they knew about this GREAT embedded CPU, well, they won't even tell us that much.

This is the kind of thing that has hurt this community OVER and OVER and OVER again.

But here we are. Announcement that there is the MAP. Which turns out to be another Announcement that is really just an Announcement that we are going to eventually Announce something.

Yeah, I am the bother here in this community.

@AmigaHeretic

Maybe just quit moaning quite so 'openly'? It really does no one any favours. This thread has no real purpose... Just another; 'if there wasn't this to moan about, it'd be something else'.

What would you be saying had there been no 'announcement'/information given whatsoever? No one can win.

That's just my take on things.

Steve

That's what I am saying. These people need to stop announcing #### till they actually HAVE something or GOD FORBID are going to at least ANNOUNCE what it is.

This announcing stuff that doesn't FULLY exist yet and announcing PARTIAL information to stir #### up is LAME.

And I will speak up. Announcing you are going to Announce something and then that Announcement turns out to be an Announcement is crap.

A lot of posting again with no new message... And, what a suprise, still not answering about the issues other people have with your attitude.

As I said you have the right to be doubtful; I myself am too. Your choice of words and general lack of listening to other people here on the board, makes people feel that you don't want to discuss anything but are just here to spread FUD.
So you are selling here,then don't be surprised that people handle you with the same attitude you're showing towards them.

GUESS who HASN'T responded? Still no reason why they won't tell us information. No reason why they are stringing us on....
