i'm wondering if you have some back-level custom classes or libraries or something. with update 3 my copies of ibrowse, YAM, and simplemail are running perfectly stably (at least on my SAM), the latter two with thousands of emails.

i wouldn't think the machine-specific differences between an A1 and a SAM would be significant to cause your issues. have you tried getting this resolved through the support fora?

Just posted it, I tried removing all extra MUI classes and just using the ones supplied with U3, as expected the apps couldn't launch as looking for their classes but they didn't crash instantly.

Rebooted with a strange error?. The old DF0 and DF1 of the classic AmigaOS icons appeared on workbench screen before the system reboot. But after the reboot AmigaOS doesn't start. After shutdown the system and reboot, amigaOS doesn't start. Shutdown for two minutes, and AmigaOS restarted, but as soon as the boot sound ends the screen becomes black.

Shutdown for two minutes again and AmigaOS doens't start anymore.

it seems in both cases the gauge class is somehow involved?
maybe you can reset the mui settings (global and yam ones) to the default one?

as a test you can rename the ENVARC:MUI folder to ENVARC:MUI_BACKUP and reset.

If you used a multiboot setup then your configuration is most likely f...ed, the installer replaced the kickstart layout file.

If you have more then one SLB installed on your hard drive, plus bootable partitions you might get some problems.

Hope you have a backup.

Boot from a BOOT cd, and check your system out.

Tried renaming the MUI directory in ENVARC: seems settings have been reset for other apps, but still same issue with YAM/IBrowse, would Snoopy logs help?

Don't have a multiboot nor more than one SLB installed, just standard configuration. And no, i don't have a backup!!!


I think i have to re-install the system. But, how come the system started one time only?

Stacksize is set to 8192 so I don't think that it will matter, meaning that it doesn't use the stack set in the iconfile.

IBrowse isn't in the compatibility prefs program. The 020 version of javascript.library is listed there and checked but I'm using the PPC version.

I would suggest checking your MUI classes.

Is it me or is everything quite a bit faster with upd 3 ?

i get random EHCI erros and i dont even use usb at all

Well, better than before, but I would expect speeds like 10MiB/s. At least that's the speed I know from my usb2 devices on my machine. But maybe your stick is pretty slow...

You can disable USB in uboot (ESC ESC, type 'menu') or you can disable USB in sys:kickstart/kicklayout (keep your boot cd close)

SabreMSN crashes for me too, launches ok but clicking in the window, or changing busy status is a system lockup, anyone replicate?

Also clicking MUI program in the MUI drawer is another crash.
