@Spectre660

That is interesting. Your 440EP is faster than 460EX. Strange.

@pavlor

Looks like browsers on Javascript benchmar are ten times faster on x86 platform than on PowerPC. 440EP being marginally faster than 460 is meaningless when difference to x86 is at 10x scale.

This is somekind of hp win7 machine. Think it's a dual core of some kind. Not sure. Ain't mine.

@wawa It proves kind of lot as most pages use java-script. We can do other tests after this. The fact is that as you can see AROS runs as fast and faster than any other OS out there.

Metal heart is an album of a band called Accept.

The lyrics is something like this.

Metal heart, Metal heart.

Lifeless piece of steal.

I'm sure metalheart know this ;)

@nikosidis
so you wanna prove owb is as fast as other browsers when it comes to, what, java script on x86? quite likely. now lets someone compile it for 68k, would be fun to see what that achieves..

On Vista I get 982.7ms +/- 0.5% with Firefox 11 and 1296.9ms with Google Chrome.

Machine is Acer TravelMate 5530 with Athlon X2 1.9GHz.

@wawa

From these test it has for sure proven to be very fast with AROS. I will make a video soon to demonstarte this for real and I promisse you it will give you a whow factor!!

Fair enough. I'm sure someone could do 68k version. It would be very slow on real hardware though.

I fear even 100 MHz 68060 would be slow for nice browsing experience (how fast is NetSurf - without JS - on 68060?).

Obviously aros is much faster in this case, since jit is enabled. If there was a ppc backend in webkit, results would be about 5-10 times faster.
