Robert had to change disks in the middle of Jason's Google Drive presentation of the status of AROS. Maybe we should ask Jason nicely to post a link to the presentation file so those of us who can view it may do so. Also, if that doesn't work, maybe he could export it to a PDF and post that somewhere. |

| Trevor said that the current batch is the last one, he also said that the future boards will not be available before maybe 2 years that's a lot of time. Hopefully Acube will have new products at pianeta. During that time A-Eon will spend it's money on software which is good. Showing a mid range and high range CPU could mean an entry level machine in the future. Trevor why not just buy Hyperion to own OS 4 and do it the Apple way? (controlling HW and SW) Kamelito |

That part was referring to the very high end boards with e6500 The lower specification boards should be here much sooner, there was a even a picture of a part of one of the prototypes on one slide.
Next year should be interesting.

I don´t think they will be able to introduce e500/e5500 based computers next year. It would be realy nice surprise.
These CPUs offer G4 (e500) or even G5 (e5500) like performance with many nice features (USB, SATA2, PCIe etc.). Only drawback is lack of AltiVec. Good base for possible X1000 successor - if the price is right. |

Hate to start rumors or speculation.... but...
Untill the "final" batch of x1000 is sold out, it might not be in the best interests of A-Eon to announce new HW. But once the last PA6T based HW is out, I would not be surpriced to see more details of the next HW immediately. Untill then, I expect the official word to remain "not in 2013" for the next HW.
Positive surprice would be in the interests of A-Eon. (even though some nay sayers will be critisizing why it was not informed earlier)
Anyway, business as usual. get what we have today and have fun. Otherwise you might end up not being able to buy anything.
btw. I expect A1-500+ to be pretty well ready for release by ACube, etc.... We most likely have some PPC options to buy also during 2013. _________________ - KimmoK // For freedom, for honor, for AMIGA // // Thing that I should find more time for: CC64 - 64bit Community Computer? |

Emulating a SID chip is very cool.. esp for those who like "chiptunes"..
I have been working on a software synthesizer, but it does not use the Xena chip. I'd love to try it, but Xena does not have enough RAM to support a General Midi instrument set.
Glad to see the video up. BIG THANKS to Robert for the excellent job recording, editing and converting the presentation. I was a bit nervous for this one..
Just one technical error I noticed.. Nemo serial is capable of 8.333 Mega BIT per second, NOT 8.333 megaBYTE.. Oops, sorry! That is still 72.3 times faster than what we have now.

Thank you for posting...
@thread
From the feedback (questions) you can easily see that the people there are mainly interested in AmigaOS. I think no question regarding Aros and Jason is really one of the lead Aros developers with huge knowledge but lots of questions regarding AmigaOS. So it seems to me that it is not worth to join for 68k, MOS and Aros people. But that is my personal view. |

| thanks, robert.
i must admit i couldnt gather enough attention to get past few initial minutes of solies presentation, i guess i will never exactly know what he tries to tell. i will look at lyles xcore demo later, when i have recovered.
@olaf: i think that was known from the start, therefore i was sceptic about the necessity to attend and actually against it. nevertheless it was everybodys personal decission, and maybe a good experience to make.
