Hi All,

I have added a new entry to my blog looking at Dockies on the X1000 with AmigaOS4.1 Final Edition. Link is here:

http://amigax1000.blogspot.com.au/2015/01/dockies-with-amigaos-416-and-final.html

Note that I have also updated my previous blog entry covering the Updated Shell under AmigaOS4.1 Final Edition to encompass some additional information I was given by LyleHaze recently about some other Shell configuration functionality.

Hope you enjoy it!

@Epsilon

Thank you for your review.
It's always a pleasure to see my programs reviewed in your blog.

Just for info, you mispelled RAMDock and GFXDock (it's not MemDock and GFXCard)

Hi All,

I have added a new blog entry looking at the just released iView v2.4 for AmigaOS4.1 Final Edition on my X1000. It allows Australians to watch ABC tv shows and ABC News 24 live streaming on your Amiga! (AmigaOS 3.X and AmigaOS 4.1).

Link is here:

If you like to stream/download videos on your x1000, you can try WebReplay too.

Looks good, shame that it is limited to just one channel.
You should ask to get ABC added to the list of supported channels in Webreplay

Even with yellow keyboard, "she" is so nice... I ever wanted to have A1000, but I was never able to get one.

Hi All,

I have created two new blog entries - one looking at my new expansion board for my Amiga 1000, and the other looking at the recently released game Quartet for AmigaOS4.1 on my AmigaOne X1000.

Links are here, as always:

http://amigax1000.blogspot.com.au/2015/02/quartet-on-x1000.html

I gave mine up just before the trade-in deal, "A1000 + $1000 for A2000," ended. Then I found out I qualified for an educator's deal, A2000 for $1000, no trade-in required, too late!

For years I kept a tracing of the signatures inside the lid, but I'm not sure whether I still have that stashed away somewhere or not. I do still have the original cardboard box it came in, folded flat to save space.

@kilaueabart,

Things cost more over there I guess. Was lucky and found A2000 years ago here for $700 with a GVP 030 Combo,HD and some software. Quite sad now days!

@QuikSanz

My A2000HD (bought in 1991) was a scary number indeed since it included a 52MB hard disk, scsi controller and the optional Commodore XT bridgeboard card. I think it was around AUD$2000 from memory, and I already had a 1084S monitor from the Amiga 500 we traded in.

Interesting story with that too - the Amiga 500 I had originally had a failed disk drive and intermittent reset fault. We found this out when we went to the Amiga repair shop to try to fix it.

After several failed attempts at the repair the repair shop said it was shot, and suggested to us to trade it in on a new Amiga from another company who didn't test it extensively first. So we walked straight next door to their own computer sales building with the faulty A500 and traded it in only a few minutes later! We traded it for an Amiga 2000HD, and they took the Amiga 500 for full trade in price untested...

Anyway, I still have that same Amiga 2000HD today - works as well as ever, just needs an 68060 accelerator which I could never get for it! It has been in a few of my blog posts...

It is also fun to muck around with an Amiga 1000 again too! Hopefully I can track down a bigger ram expansion and scsi expansion for a hard disk amongst other goals I have for it

Amiga's are still a lot of fun!

Catcha,
Epsilon

I was even luckier... a friend of mine gave me an A2000 for free it turned out some of his relatives still used it up until ten years ago to do accounting for his small company! It came with dual 3.5" disk and an HD.
When he retired, he dumped it and my friend was kind enough to remember i like to take care of this stuff... he also gave me his A1200 as a side gift!

I've never seen an A1000 with the Commodore logo on the front. Or maybe I just never noticed it before. That must be a UK and/or EU market thing -- my recollection is that US A1000s didn't have that.
