128 MB RAM? 8 MB on my Blizzard 1230IV looks like too few in comparison!

USB was one of the expansions I ever wanted to give to my A1200. However, with only 540 MB HDD, 512 MB CF card was enough for basic file transfer, so I never realised this idea. Your blog gives me inspiration to rethink this once more...

@kyle

Thanks mate.

@all

Today I wrote another blog post covering Part 3 of my Amiga 1200 upgrade series, this time focusing on upgrading the CF Card from 4GB to 8Gb card, AmigaOS 3.9 upgrade and AmiKit Real 8.1 upgrade work. Lots of photos of the work involved.

Link is here:

I hope this is interesting

@pavlor

USB is well worth the investment on an Amiga. It makes everything so much easier.

I need three things: love, friendship and books. However, the three are interlinked RS Gold! Hot love can enrich the contents of the book, the book is one of the most faithful friends.

Hi All,

I have recently written two blog posts - one looking at the Prisma Megamix and X-Surf 100 on the Amiga 4000, the other looking at the BigRam Plus expansion for the Amiga 4000T.

Links and plenty of pictures below:

@klx300r

I got lots of comments on irc, Facebook and here about that battery! It is brand new! But I have succumbed to peer pressure and removed it this morning.

All good

SDL2 game? Nice! However, requiring assign is not good manner. Simple script in the game directory would do all the work:

assign SF: ""
starfighter

Wow extreme deja vu, I've been playing this game on my various nextgen AmigaOS machines since about 2004, looks exactly the same from the screen shot? Original port was from Costel I belive and runs well on my SAM I played it end to end on my A1XE originaly.

i made port of starfighter for amiga few years ago, which is on aminet. im afraid i ve mistakenly linked it to mesa, which it doesnt need, so its a bit messed up. i should correct that. still it worked well on my a4k/060, even if a bit too slow. it should run full speed on vampire, though.

Not even. We've had PROGDIR: for years. Programmer just needs to use that as if it was an assign. Done.

@Epsilon

Thanks for very detailed blog post about Vampire!

It seems installation is not easy, but this is expected with "classic" computers. You write about slow GFX speed in PCTask - FPU plays no role in applications like Doom - maybe you should try fullscreen mode in lowest resolution possible. Note Vampire is too slow to emulate 486DX/2, so Doom will never run at full speed.

Edit: What about compatibility with WHDLoad installed games? Some people reported problems/stability issues, but this may be solved now.
