@Rob

Its a nice round up of news. Anyway, long road to OS 4.2 and seems
that Cyrus will be the board to go with it

Quote:
The Cyrus board will be available as board only and the current Nemo shall be too. This is to make it cheaper for international customers to get an A-EON system.

This is great, just in case Nemo board dies out, and offers cheaper
way to replace Nemo with Cyrus

Ethernet onboard driver is most welcome. I dont know why
but I find RTL card kind of slow and wish to free that PCI slot
for better expansions

Nice news for Classic lovers, too

Netbook officially canceled... can add source to wiki. When Gallium3D done, OS4.2 will be released... when it is done. X kernel - experimental multicore OS4. Nobody asked about compatibility with current applications. Edit: There will be Update7, bootable CD for all platforms - Cyrus included. FUSE ported to OS4, NTFS (NTFS-3G) is working reliably.

My salute for NFTS and Update 7 CD, long expected

@Boot_WB

updated earlier post #29

We were all told about new systems in development at VCF UK - but sworn to secrecy :)

I personally don't think we need many models . Just a cheap one that can do the job.

Maybe look into all in one solutions built into LCD screens, that's trending currently.

I wish Trevor funds a classic fpga system !

@amigakit

Just read the Prisma Megamix press release. I'm curious about what benefit there would be in a Xorro version.

Perhaps if cost is not to much a compact Prisma megamix board that plugs direct into clockport for A1200 user,with todays technology could even have clockport splitter intergrated.

I will continue to use Prelude sound card for now.

I got the impression from Trevor's presentation that the P3041 Cyrus will not be that much cheaper than the P5020, but it will be noticeably slower.

4 e500mc cores 1.5 GHz should be at least as fast as 2 e5500 cores 2.0 GHz.

these spec are very good for modern smartphone or tablet, not for dekstop computer
with hardgamer prices

PCIe 2.0 is not something you see on smartphone.

@Seiya

WHEN the 3d drivers/OS support arrives, the load on the CPU will be reduced. Todays 3d cards got insane
specs, so while the CPU doesnt have extreme specs I would think its good enough to port/make fancy looking games if thats your cup of tea.
The other day I was watching my nephews playing 3D games on ipod/ipad and damn the 3d graphics on
those devices are pretty amazing.

Ssolie did mention it briefly too if Im not mistaken, before the stream died on him.

Overall I enjoyed both Trevors and Ssolie's presentation.
