68000 and upwards was the spec I was given, so that's what got written. :) It does mean you can use a vanilla A2000 to play high bitrate compressed audio as a jukebox, though, and that is kind of cool!
The VS chip is not designed for computers at all - it's designed for embedded hardware like, strangely enough, MP3 players :) However, it is a very funky little chip, as long as you can keep it fed.
I've played with all sorts of mechanisms for keeping the data flowing freely, and I figure that anybody with such a loaded system that a VBl will cause instability will have at least a 68040 anyway, the two systems I have should work just fine. For people who don't like IRQs, that's why we have the delay loop version.
We did consider a buffer but it would have complicated the hardware design markedly, and it does work as it is. I know this because I just listened to it playing. :) |

Really? People with only a 68000 in their A2000 want to put a soundcard in it? I can't imagine such a scene, it's not the late 80's anymore.

Put a Prelude in my A2000 while they were available, late 90's. Good stuff.

| MHI Driver Working!
A driver was developed to let programs which are MHI compatible use the Prisma.library and playback through the Prisma Megamix music card. I am pleased to confirm that it is now working with AmigaAmp on the Classic Amiga.
Here is a screenshot of Prisma in my A1200 running AmigaAmp, using the new MHI driver:
Thanks to Spirantho for his hard work on this driver.

What Arexx commands are already built-in?
Is any guide for PrismaControl's Arrex available?

Wow! I didn't think they'd sell out! Good for them! I never managed to get my question answered as to whether you could run the Rapid Road Clock Port version off the additional clock port on the Prisma. | Will they ever do the addon for adding cdrom audio output to the Prisma megamix card and line in as well? as this is a great card apart from no cdrom audio input
