Absolutely true!
Those few developers left should always be supported ... No developers = no party.

Nobody should support the wretched situation the Amiga (NG) has been in the past fifteen years. It should have been completely boycotted. _________________ Using: One Commodore C64 - One Commodore Amiga 500 - One Commodore Amiga 1200 with BVision and Blizzard 68060 with PPC coprocessor running Amiga DOS - One Hellbillylitre Amigatwox86x64x6000x running Windows7 |

Gawd... To avoid the wretched situation. | @tangoone,
Maybe they can sanction a new line of FPGA computers and actually call them Amiga then start back at 3.1.1 for more modern workbench that follows the advancements of OS4 a bit more closely of course including the good parts of 3.5 & 3.9. Could be interesting.

Maybe an official quality Amiga-branded product sold and marketed on amiga.com then? :) |
These are official. AmigaOne brand was created in 2000 by then Amiga.Inc. AmigaOne is probably most successful Amiga branded hardware since bankruptcy of Amiga Technologies in 1996.
Other post 2000 computers with Amiga brand were: dAmiga (year 2000 - common PC for developement of AmigaDE) Amiga tablets from iContain (2011; Android based) |
Did anyone ever receive one of these from Amiga, Inc.? I've never heard of even one person getting one, and I know that there are people that placed orders for them.

Commodore Amiga Mini from CommodoreUSA (2012 common min-ITX PC with Linux/a.k.a. "CommodoreOS")

Amiga store on Amiga.com would be nice (like old shop.amiga.com), but what to sell on it? What is your idea of future Amiga computer? |
Oh, and btw, I use AmigaOS 4.1...

They don't own the Amiga name hence the new disk sets and CF installs being sold under the Amiga Forever brand.
The exclusive license that Commodore USA had for Amiga branded computers my still be tied up in Barry Altman's estate.
In the event of those rights reverting back to Amiga Inc then any further licensee of the Amiga brand would still be bound by certain conditions written into the settlement agreement between Hyperion and the Amiga parties.
To sell Amiga branded hardware with or for use with an Amiga OS would require a separate contract with Hyperion that supersedes the relevant clauses in the settlement agreement.Last edited by Rob on 06-May-2015 at 02:46 AM.

@Rob,
Now that sounds interesting. Someone should be looking into that avenue!

Exclusive would imply that Amiga Inc. gave up on Amiga brand but forming Amiga Games Inc. proves otherwise ?
Or do you think exclusive license to Amiga branded hardware or more specific license ?
It would be nice of Cloanto if it offered Kickstarts to developers working on FPGA hardware solutions for some symbolic fee and being mentioned in credits but since Franko isn't here I will state in his place that all Amiga owners own their own kickstarts that came with their Amigas |

The license was only for branding hardware with the Amiga name and other trademarks. Amiga Inc stated from the start that they weren't interested in being a hardware company so it was a win-win situation for them.
