I'm also ready to pay for a native OS4 version. Terminalhills, any ETA at all for it? Do you need beta testers? |
Expect the OS4 version within a few months of the 68K version being finished._________________ Support AROS sponsor a developer.

I'd be willing to pay £50 for an OS4native version with .Doc support. |
Sadly do not expect .doc support in this version. I would say there's a possibility in a future version though._________________ Support AROS sponsor a developer.

I am afraid the subscription model won't work on the Amiga platform unless the software is so good that you can use it daily and profesionally. Otherwise paying a regular subscription fee can hardly be justified.
IMHO a more viable model is paid updates, where the price of the update is kept at a reasonable level.
|
I personally wouldn't feel right about a subscription model in the Amiga community._________________ Support AROS sponsor a developer.

Out of curiosity: is the PDF support achieved using Haru, or Poppler?

haru as it's more integrated. Last edited by terminills on 07-Jun-2019 at 12:42 PM.

Is anyone interested in a current release without the updated spell checker while it's being worked on? I'm just gauging interest currently.

AOS3, AROS all platforms, AOS4 and MorphOS.
AROS will be the initial supported platform. However, I am hoping the AOS4 and MorphOS versions will follow quickly.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I'd love to check the 68k version, when it will be available though. |

I am interested in trying a current release. Either 68K or OS4 would be fine. I have been using Final Writer 97 for many years, originally on my A2000HD, then later on my OS4 system.

means what? A useable FW97 Version on par with the "old" FW97 68k Version - without spell checker?
If though, YES YES YES!!!! What will be the timeframe for release? sub 6 months or more than a year up to three years? What will be the timeframe for OS4 Version? That is actually the one I am after. However I would also setup AROS just in order to try FW97....
"Budgetframe" for current AROS Version would be 40€. For OS4 Version I would pay 120€ - if you do a business licensing model I would pay a bit more. Last edited by gerograph on 11-Sep-2019 at 06:56 PM.

|
Some people might even buy it without a spell checker.
BTW.: As far as I remember, the spell checker (and the part that does the hyphenation) where a 3rd party part. so they can't be ported from the existing source.
So a spell checker (for different languages) might be a project that will continue during the software maintenance and development in the years after the initial release of this software.
There is a lot to do and even a release with all the features from the old FinalWriter is only a first step. |

Only the spell checker and thesaurus. The hyphenation is included.
