Probably a year or two... but even then, without proper FPU, it is not a great idea. _________________

They had the option of not designing it at all :D BTW, wasn't 8610 available few years back, at very decent prices... a far wiser choice for OS4._________________

You've got a bet. This one has been rumored for awhile. I can't see A-eon going with anything other than a full 64bit cpu.
Edit - Then again...you could be right. If so, this is a big miss step on the part of the parties involved.Last edited by iggy on 11-Oct-2015 at 02:17 PM.

Today, nearly 200 USD more expensive than P1022 (in the price league of P5020). |

No reason what so ever. The T is the best low price option. And it has been around long enough to have been included in this.

I hope the performance is better than P2.
But time and time again release of NEW system info do not come with high quality images, videos, benchmarks etc.
Marketing always sucked on Amiga as wee are geeks and Apple are posh systems.
Most girls that I ask is - if they would buy Amiga system and they say what can this ugly thing do ?

Yes, I always poll girls before i shop for hardware too. Sure...
Sounds like the kind of logic that got us products like the Mac Cube. |

That would be really bad timing. This year release would be logical and not impossible as some OS4 developers (not part of Linux team I think) already have Tabor board. |

So compared to a Pegasos2 it is: - 10 years later - 2x the price
And will only be on par in performance when neither Altivec nor the FPU are used or if Altivec is still not used and code compiled specially for it's FPU is provided.
I do like the form factor, but with these numbers I just don't see the point. |
Indeed! Let's all buy new pegs instead! Oh, wait..._________________ All glory to the Hypnotoad! |

Actually Mac Cube had more sales by females than all AmigaOne systems ever built for every year put together vs 1 month Mac Cube sales.
Mac Cube actually won design awards, but the limited upgradability did not help sell enough millions as Apple hoped.
50% population is female and most buy iPhones & iPads because they look slick, stylish, usable, powerful in correct proportions. Software availability & usability is another reason.
Amiga has nothing for 2015 users they cannot already use on PCs.
There is no need for custom hardware as a signed contract to supply abc model over 3 years in 500 units is easy to accomplish with existing hardware.
Anyone who says otherwise is just trying to create a monopoly. Keeping profit margins up.
We are no longer professional anymore. No sales or marketing skills, no vision to excel.

And today its still a useless piece of art. Personally, I choose function over form.
And comparing Macs and Amigas these days is pointless. One is a consumer driven commodity the other a hobbyist platform.

| Lets check this board from other side. It may replace few Sams460, but it won't bring any new users to AmigaOS4. People who still keep their 68K Amigas wont find it attractive in any way.
Oh and I really like all the "two cores" comments. It is not supported today, not tomorrow, maybe in some distant future and if it ever get supported, there will be no apps really using it... |

Nah, but how about someone actually making HW that can compete with 10 year old stuff.....

So why bother with the 2 cores? Why not put 1 core, and make it faster. _________________
