That might require taking over/assisting production if the above postings mean anything.

The Vampire team really is stretched far too thin and would be better served designing rather than producing the hardware and stuffing boxes.

At times they can be their own worse enemies though. It's noble that they do much of this purely motivated by adoration but for the technology to continue to evolve they need to start operating like a business.

Testing of legacy MOD playing with PAMELA AUDIO Chip, which support 24bit mixing precision plus 4-times oversampling. Optional STEREO separation is enabled, it's better for headphones.

@thread

This link has appeared on other websites, but I think it is informative as to some of the issues he is facing recently:

Given that in the link above he mentions 2200 still to deliver and 464 sent (and I'm sure those numbers are growing), I'd have to agree.

Really disgusting news. What kind of depraved personality would do such vile thing? It seems it is not the first time someone attacked majsta via ebay. One may be critical towards some aspects of the Apollo/Vampire project, but this is pure evil.

@pavlor

If the blog is entirely accurate, it's not just one individual.

I think "another" makes that clear.

I'm curious (and you surely know what I delve into on this site these days) whether this refers to a company or someone posing AS a company asserting certain rights....

Seriously, I'd like to see the exact image and/or text that was called into question.

It's the internet. People think such petty behavior can go on unpunished and without consequences.

I hope with the right evidence, their accounts can be terminated.

Hi all, Just a quick note to give you update on my status. I took a big hit on bad board production recently which has put a huge dent money wise on what i can and want to do in the future. I am going to exhaust all my supply of different projects that i have sitting about and will then kinda fizzle away and just do a few projects only. I don't intend on continuing with making the Vampire 600 boards and i will be exhausting those items also. Thanks for everyones support.

Exact details to the V1200 will be announced in 2 weeks.

I think it's good to know for anybody interested in A1200 version

@ErikBauer

As I replied to someone on EAB regarding that comment;

Im unsure if Gunnar is just trolling or serious, considering the "2 more weeks" meme has strong traditions in the Amiga comunity

Uh... right... My innate optimism/naiveism (do even such a word exists?) tendencies make me forget about this sort of things... that would be just sad

Thank you anyway for the headup

Yes, these sort of 'Amigan' traditions do us no favours. This one is my least favourite;

Isn't "2 weeks" a cursed term in the land of Amiga?

Posted by Gunnar on Apollo Forum;

http://www.apollo-core.com/knowledge.php?b=2¬e=7546

Quote:

We did a performance comparison between the various 68K CPU models.

As benchmark we measured CPU video decoding performance.
Without showing/rendering the video.
So the test is a pure CPU calculation comparison.

The equal test conditions on all systems are:
[gt] riva0.52 verbose noaudio norender noskip FPS=1000 ram:TopGun_640x360.mpg

Used files
RIVA 0.52 http://m68k.aminet.net/package/gfx/show/RiVA-0.52
Testvideo http://www.apollo-core.com/TopGun_640x360.mpg

Results:
A1200 with 68030@33 MHz == 2.0 FPS
A4000 with 68040@25 MHz == 2.9 FPS
A4000 with 68060@60 MHz == 13.7 FPS

A500 + VampireV2 68080@78 MHz == 47.5 FPS
A500 + VampireNG 68080@93 MHz == 61.7 FPS

This means the VAMPIRE V2 (78 MHz) does perform this test like

68030 @ 795 MHz
68040 @ 409 MHz
68060 @ 206 MHz
