I see it now on my Windows machine instead of small iPad. He keeps pressing the buttons to skip that screen ;)

Price will be a factor for some, but i don't care what the price is. As the song goes:
I want it all, and I want it now.

£1000 euro hope your wrong on that or it will be another great product held back by way over the top pricing. It needs to be in the £400 - £500 range to be a real success. needs to be mass produced like the C64 mini outsource the design to some manufacture in China to get the manufacturing costs down...

@g01df1sh

Theres nothing wrong with the pricing.
Just look at some ebay listings for ppc/060 cards and you will understand that this will be a huge success.

@g01df1sh

I see what you are saying. £1000 is alot of money for a hobbysystem basically.

But I also see the reason for it;

Relatively few units vs component cost and labour.

Gunnar has said that the V2 core will recive updates as it fits the design and size restrictions.

Those that wants a bigger core/more resources will opt for V4.

Given the economic situation around the world (including the Eurozone), £1000 is quite the chunk of money.

@monstercoder

1000 EUR is much

There will still be enthusiasts buying it but there is no chance to get higher sales

But we will see

@OlafS25

true ... i think the right prize for this hobby expansion can be not more than 500 euros... just because the small batch of productions. I will pay 1000 euros for only one add on that will overkill the best NG perfromances, just because will be cool have an old classic machine faster like an "actual computer".

I guess the HDMI out doesn't know how to scale the image?

@g01df1sh

It's not that expensive and they deserve to make a good profit on it after all these years of development.

LOL, according to Gunnar the Vampire V4 mass production started 1,5 Years ago.

http://www.apollo-core.com/knowledge.php?b=1¬e=8126

But this is the only product I could find when searching for it:

https://www.amazon.de/Kirk-Lindos-Vampress-Luxura-V4/dp/1496181131/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?__mk_de_DE=%C3%85M%C3%85%C5%BD%C3%95%C3%91&keywords=vampire+v4+standalone#reader_1496181131

It looks like that, you need a 80inch screen to get a large picture on the V4 ;)

But, at least my Dell LCD @home can stretch the image in the monitor settings to remove black bars.

@g01df1sh

It needs to be marketed outside the Amiga market

The vampire v4 board will cost a bit more than current v2. Current v2 boards are priced 300 (from majsta) and 350+'from resellers.
The price of v4 will be on 400 euros target. Surely less than 500.
The idea of a 1000 euros board is not in the apollo team plans.

But then you lose pixel aspect ratio... I don't mind black bars on ONE side as long as the aspect ratio of what is displayed is correct.

@Argo

outside Amiga market there is WinUAE, UAE for various Consoles, Raspberry P to quote something.
This products are made for Amiga fans that live in this community. Outside i don't think there is people that could spend 500€ to play 68k games

@monstercoder

From their Apollo website one of their key features:
Affordable
We also think paying 1500€ for an old 68060 accelerator plus RTG is pure madness.

When I have seen the video about Switzerland meeting, I hear from the presentation from Gunnar that in the standalone there has been lots of time, back-engineering etc etc, so I expect for the standalone a price from 799 to 999 American Dollars and for the card for in the Amiga 1200 comparing the the V2, a price from 449-599 when availability increases and sales flows it will probably have a small decrease in Price to 449-549, but again it's speculation and depending on the amount of "Margain/piece of the cake" the Amiga stores want which will drive up the price . We will see the real thing soon enough. About availability, that it gets produced in Juli, it most likely will be available in the last quarter of the year. That stuff takes time, from factory to the availability in Amiga stores.
