Polaris one will be faster only on sam460 currently. On x1000 it does not work because of CFE which need updates and source of which not in aeon's hands. On x5k it will be slower than si based cards, as it use powermanagment , which seems to need dma support in graphis.library, which x5k lack.

So as it of now, polaris one is best choice only for sam460.

For X5000 only slower video playback and no Linux support is the problem .
3D performance is very good.

Thank you, I’ll upgrade my Enhancer package which I finally managed to install the update. It seems like the utilities/installer was the bad one, I copied installer back from os4.1fe and enhancer installation went well.

Seeing benchmarks you posted, it looks like on x5k all 2d operations much slower than the same operations, but on SI driver. That strange anyway.. Even and if DMA will works on x5k, then it will speed up and SI one and polaris one, so polaris one again will be slower in 2D ?:)

The only 2D benchmark components really affected by lack of DMA are
Memcopy and Random .

have i missed an update to Final Edition as Sysmon on my X5000 shows I am running version 4.1.8 FE? It was something I noticed on one of Trevor's blog posts too as he too is showing a picture on his blog running an X5000 with version 4.1.9 FE update 1....


Also i notice on my SysMon under the graphic card info I can only see free memory, used memory and total memory whereas your SysMon is showing the Free GPU Used GPU and composition (active) next to the graphic card info. Is there any way I can get my system to display as per your system?

You have to wait for Sysmon's forthcoming update.

Final Edition was to be named AmigaOS 4.1.7. Update 1 becomes 4.1.8.

how weird then that my X5000 system shows 4.1.8 FE! I remember reading on Hyperion's website that Update 1 wasn't required for the X5000 as the pre-release version that came with the X5000 is equivalent to Final Edition update 1.


Look forward to the SysMon update as it's a really useful tool

If I had to summarize (correct me if I'm wrong) regaring the Radeon RX driver :

* Sam440 : not working
* Sam460/AmigaOne 500 : fully supported in both 2D and 3D (but not in u-Boot, only in AmigaOS 4.1)
* AmigaOne X1000 : not working (needs a CFE update)
* AmigaOne X5000 : slower than Radeon SI driver in 2D due to lack of DMA in graphics.library. And SI driver on X5000 was already slower than on X1000 due to the very same missing feature. Ok in 3D.
* AmigaOne 1222 : unavailable so far (is DMA ok in graphics.library for this system? )

So far, only the Sam460 takes advantage fuully of this driver. For the rest, it's better waiting for fixex or updates.

Fortunately, the price paid for this upgrade will make the ESP v.2 free, otherwise it would have been a lot a money for a little upgrade (except for the 256MB barrier for those playing Warp3D games).

What about the missing/broken soft-reset on RX cards?
No soft-reset with later RX models seems to me like big step back...

One question about the Enhancer Software Graphic Upgrade, which was said to give right to the whole Enhancer 2.0 licence when ready... Does it cost now for Enhancer 1.x Plus owners the same as the Enhancer 2.0 licence will cost later? Or is it cheaper to buy now this Graphic Upgrade than later the Enhancer 2.0 licence...?

I have a sam440 with RadeonHD 5450.... RadeonHD v2 work good (but with vram limit) I can upgrade with RadeonHD v3 driver and use all vram?

I just purchased the Enhancer Graphic Upgrade :). No problems with paying, and downloading the package worked ok, too. But when I tried to install it with the script included, there was some error when it came to the RadeonRX driver, and the installation of it was not performed.

I also noticed that the installed RadeonHD driver was still v. 2.22, and checked that the RadeonHD.chip file included in the downloaded package has indeed that version number (size 1710768, date 24-Apr-18).

When I then opened Updater and logged in, it stated that I would have the v. 3 RadeonHD already installed. When I chose it and tried to download, I got an error message saying this account has no right to download it... Strange, isn't it?
